ELISA

Dominic and I are okay. Wala na rin akong balita tungkol kay Leslie. Nakaka-usap ko rin si Marco at sinabi niya sakin na baka nga bumalik na ang babae sa Pilipinas. Nasabi ko na rin sa magulang ko na nagkaayos na kami ni Dominic. Maging sa parents ni Dominic ay ganoon din. Masaya sila para saming dalawa. Balak nilang magpa-party kapag umuwi kami sa Pilipinas. Pinagpa-planuhan na rin namin 'yon ni Dominic. Sa ngayon, nag-eenjoy muna kami sa kung anong meron samin. Hatid sundo niya ako lagi. Minsan nga ay nagtatampo na ang anak namin dahil ako na lang raw lagi ang hinahatid. Napapatawa na lang ako at sinasabihan si Dominic tungkol doon. Kaya ngayon, naka-schedule ang paghatid niya kay Eric. Ako muna ang mag-isang papasok ngayon. 

"Mama, my teacher told me na top 1 daw po ako ulit. What's my prize po?" I looked at my son who's sitting on my bed. I'm in front of the dresser and fixing my hair. I smiled at him and finished what I was doing before I approached him. I kissed him on the cheek.

"Congrats, baby! I'm so happy! Alright, what do you want?"

"Baby sister!" I almost choked on my own saliva because of his answer. I sat down next to him.

"Baby sister?"

"Yes, mom. Can I have a baby sister? I have a friend and his name is Govann, his little sister is so cute! " He touched both of my cheeks and squeezed. "Tapos mama ang taba ng cheeks niya. Nakakagigil!" Natawa ako.

"Baby, I can't give you a sister as of now, alright?" I pinched his sharp nose. "And, don't squeeze your friend's baby sister, huh? That's bad."

"I won't do it. She's just cute." Napangiti ako habang pinagmamasdan ang anak ko. Alam ko namang naiinggit siya sa mga classmates niya na may kapatid. Pero hindi ko pa kasi kayang ibigay yon sa kanya. I'm not saying na ayaw kong magka-anak ulit. If it god's will then let it be.

"So, what does my baby want, hmmm?" I got up and put on a Chanel slim-fitted jacket. Designed from soft black wool with a smooth silk blend lining, its inner hem displays the typical Chanel final touch - the chain trimming detail.

"Let's just go home mama to the Philippines! Is that possible?" I turned to him with a smile.

"Alright. We'll go there after your school year ends."

"Are you both done?" Napatingin kami ni Eric sa daddy niya ng pumasok ito sa loob ng kuwarto. He's wearing his casual style.

"Yeah..." Lumapit siya sakin at hinalikan ako sa labi. Naaamoy ko na naman ang matapang na pabango niya. But I love his scent.

"Yehey!" Pumalakpak naman ang isa kaya napatawa kaming dalawa.

"Let's go, guys." Dominic held my hand and then he carried Eric's bag.

When I arrived at my office, I soon received a text message from Dominic.

From: Dominic

I'm still here at school. I'll be there in an hour. I love you.

I replied to him.

To: Dominic

Alright. Be careful. I love|

I erased the last 2 words and sent it to him. I bit my lower lip. I haven't told him 'I love you too' since we both got along. As for him, he tells me almost every minute how much he loves me. I was suddenly guilty. I know in myself that I still love him. I'm just afraid to tell him that.

But...

I picked up my cellphone and start typing again.

To: Dominic

Jetaime, Dominic. ❤️

I wish my message will make him happy for real.

I put back my cellphone on top of my desk and turned on my laptop to check the ideas that have been submitted to me for the campaign.

Ilang minuto pa lang ang nakakalipas ng tawagan ako ni Kara para papasukin si Alex dito sa loob ng opisina. Gusto raw kasi akong maka-usap.

"Send him in, Kara."

"Okay, Ma'am."

Soon after, Alex arrived.

"Have a seat, Alex. How are you?" I asked him. I offered him a drink but he refused. But because I was pushy, I asked Kara to bring us a coffee.

"Ma'am Elisa talaga, para ka ring si Dom eh! Mapilit." Sabay nguso niya. Natawa naman ako.

"Ano ka ba! Okay nga lang. Besides, we haven't talked for a long time. How's your work by the way?"

"Okay naman. Masaya pala rito ano? Tsaka ang babait nila lahat sakin. Sabi nga nila ang guwapo ko raw! Nangingilabot ako sa sinasabi nila eh! Balak ko na rin mag-aral ng french language. Ako na ang mag-aadjust." Tawang-tawa ko sa sinabi niya. Never talaga siyang pumalpak para pasayahin ako.

"Would you like me to hire a personal tutor for you?" His eyes widened.

"Ay, talaga? Ibawas mo na lang sa salary ko."

"No, it's fine. Ako na ang sasagot sayo."

"Hala! OMG. Thank you!" I smiled at him.

"You're welcome. Huwag kang mahiyang magsabi sakin, okay?" I told him. I noticed that he was just smiling at me.

"You look so happy ma'am Elisa... Mabuti naman at okay na kayo ni Dom." Napatingin ako sa kanya.

Wow, is this really Alex?

Ngayon ko lang siya nakitang ganito.

"T–Thank you, Alex..."

"Ma'am, here's the coffee." Napatingin kami ng pumasok si Kara at dala-dala ang tray. Dahan-dahan niyang nilapag ang dalawang tasa ng kape sa ibabaw ng desk ko.

"Thank you, Kara," I said to her, and then she leaves. Sinundan naman ng tingin ni Alex si Kara.

"Ganda nun. Kaso ang seryoso minsan." I chuckled.

Tama ba ang narinig ko? Nagagandahan siya kay Kara?

"Yeah. She's very pretty. Ganyan talaga siya minsan. Pero mabait siya. You like her?" Tukso ko sa kanya.

"Ay! Hindi! Mas maganda ako sa kanya. Akin na nga ang kape ko." Tawang-tawa na naman ako sa kanya.

We talked for an hour before he went back to his department.

And I noticed something.

Dominic has not arrived yet.
