Staring out into the window was doing no good. This was supposed to be a good way of calming the nerves, but all it was doing was causing more frustration than ever.
To go over the facts. Alec is safe, and with Magnus, who isn't dead. Those non magic kids were with them. Adi, the little brat, was alive and well. Little sister Brianna was with her. The whole gang was somewhere untraceable.
These were not pleasing facts.
But there was still an element of surprise. Those pesky little kids didn't know about it yet. And it would take them years to figure out what it was. If it could be used the right way, then all the power of the world could be accessible. Well, accessible as soon as dear little Brianna was dead, and Magnus's power had been absorbed. Adi's power might be useful, but it was very weak, not quite worth the sake of an absorption tonic. They were painfully difficult to make, and there were only two left in the supply stocks.
All that could be done was wait until the time was right to use it. And then. Hehehe, then, those annoying little urchin could be dealt with once and for all.
Elizabeth stepped away from the window, and smiled. She was starting to sound like one of those cliché fairytale villains. But she was far from it. There wasn't going to be any "Happily Ever After" in this story.
