Alec was in pain. Great pain. Pain he didn't even know could exist. But he was happy. Happy because Magnus was happy. The two were lying together under a blanket on the little beach, holding hands. Magnus had said he needed to be distracted, and Alec had distracted him. Granted, Alec wasn't going to be able to sit comfortably for a few days, but he was glad they'd finally overcome that particular barrier. Now, his job was going to be getting MAgnus to calm down, and actually talk about the issue.
He turned his head towards Magnus, who was already looking at him and smiled. Magnus leaned over and softly kissed his mouth
"Sooo," Alec said, turning his body so he could thread his other hand through Magnus's hair. He traced his hand down MAgnus's face and arm, until it reached his hand. Alec brought it up and kissed his palm. MAgnus closed his eyes, smiling with absolute bliss. The moon was on its way to setting, and dawn was fast approaching. But neither wanted to leave.
"I think..." Alec started, and let go of Magnus hand, "We need to be getting back. The others will be getting worried about us."
Magnus groaned, dragging the blanket over his head.
"I don't wanna go" he grumbled.
Alec pulled his pants back on, and started to button up his shirt.
"Come on stubborn, we gotta get back. Remember, there's still things we need to talk about and figure out."
"No"
Alec had a sly grin on his face. Walking over to the lump under the blanket, he straddled magnus, and flipped the blanket up, revealing Magnus. With a smirk, he pinned Magnus's hands to his sides, simultaneously kicking his legs apart. Magnus stared back up at him, mouth gaping. Alec leaned down and kissed him, sliding his tongue into Magnus's mouth. He groaned with pleasure, and tried to sit up to embrace Alec. But he pulled away, causing Magnus to fall forward, and land with his face in the sand. Cursing, he jumped to his feet, his boxers riding dangerously low.
"There." said Alec happily. "Now you're up"
Magnus just growled, and stalked forward.
"Uh oh...looks like somebody's toward." Alec teased in a baby voice. "Does wittle Magnus need a nap. Oh shit!"
With the mention of naps, Magnus began to charge at him, the sand kicking up behind him. Alec laughed as he ran away from Magnus. The beach seemed to stretch forever as Alec sprinted down the coast. Magnus was right on his tail though.
"Just a little farther" he panted to himself. "And then I can jump up onto the rocks. He'll never get me on the-"
Arms wrapped around his waist, pulling him down into the sand. Magnus and Alec rolled along the sand, coming to a stop at the edge of the water. Alec laughed so had, he thought he might pass out. Magnus wasn't helping the laughter, shouting about what a jerk Alec was. When Alec finally managed to calm down, he looked up at his best friend, now lovers adorable face.
It was at this moment that the two of them realised what position they were in. Magnus was straddling Alec, pinning his arms above his head. Their faces were inches apart. Magnus took a sharp intake of breath. Alecs heart was thumping so loudly, he was sure Magnus could hear.
In other words, it was exactly like that moment, all those years ago, but reversed.
Neither of them moved.
Except, this time, Alec couldn't jump away, and Magnus couldn't just brush it off. They were stuck, neither wanting to move, but neither wanting to end the moment as well. Magnus slowly let go of Alec's hands, and flopped down on his chest. Alec wrapped his arms around Magnus, and the two laid there, while the first light of dawn touched the horizon.
