Name: Alex Okari
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Nationality: Half-Japanese, half French-Australian
Ultimate/SHSL: Woodworker
Personality: She easily angers when people provoke her and tends to get herself involved in fights. She's scarily blunt and always says what's on her mind, even if it's something bad about herself. She's quite selfish and tries to get others to pity her by crying whenever something doesn't go her way, which gets on people's nerves.
However, she's also fiercely loyal to the people who befriend her. She has a wicked sense of humour, but her personality tends to overwhelm some people due to her brash loudness.
Brave to the point of stupidness. Overconfident. Kokichi finds great humour in riling her up.
Throughout the story, she learns to swallow her pride and not get aggravated so easily, which is hard going at first but she learns eventually and, though she still has a strong personality, she learns to make it strong in the right ways.
Appearance: 5'7. Short, curly brown hair. Dark pink, almost red eyes. Strong and toned body. She wears a brown tank top and short pleated skirt, with black bike shorts underneath. She also wears a faded blue denim jacket which is a bit longer than her skirt, the sleeves rolled up three quarters. She wears brown steel-toed boots and blue socks, and has her ears pierced. She wears a pink bracelet on one hand which seems to match her eyes and clear safety goggles on her head. She has a small scar on her neck from an incident with a woodworking machine.
Sexuality: She doesn't know and she doesn't care.
Reaction to seeing murder: She freezes in shock and then feels sick, sometimes unable to pull herself out of her frozen state unless someone helps her. She isn't very good at investigating, though she wants to help, and usually ends up with only one or two pieces of evidence, which, as soon as she gets the chance, uses in the class trial. She desperately wants to help but she doesn't know how to.
Reaction to being accused of murder: She gets angry and, though she tries to debunk the evidence, she usually ends up making herself look more suspicious until someone else comes in to help.
Backstory: She and her Dad (Of Japanese descent) live in Hokkaido, where they've lived for all of her life. Alex's Mother (Of Australian descent [French-Australian]) is rarely around due to having a job which sends her overseas quite a lot. When she was little, her parents would always give her little wooden toys to play with as they didn't have a lot of money for big fancy things. They love telling the story of the day they walked in to see her, instead of playing with the toys, inspecting how they worked.
As she grew up, her parents got in contact with some local companies like fence removers and started taking the wood they took from fences. On the odd occasion, they would drive around to the industrial area of the city and take unused pallets from behind stores and factories, giving Alex a better range of wood to use for her creations.
Eventually, Alex taught herself how to design products and, with her parents' help, began building small things. As she grew older, however, Alex learned how to use everything she needed and began making bigger things.
On her 12th birthday, her parents took money out of their life savings and used it to build an extension on their house with most of the basic machines Alex would need to foster her talent. They were willing to do anything for their daughter, and upon seeing her ability, they wanted to try and get her noticed by Hope's Peak. She spent days on end building and designing, and eventually she entered a competition for designing and creating a product and won.
This started her snowball to national, and eventually international fame for her designs. At 13, she was accepted into Hope's Peak, and quickly transitioned schools, leaving her friends behind. She missed them like hell but she knew this was her opportunity.
However, the same year she was accepted was the year her Mother found her new job, which meant she had to begin travelling frequently, leaving her family behind. It was a sad time, but the regular phone calls helped her and the distraction of her transition to Hope's Peak made it so she couldn't wallow in sadness for too long.
She found a big new friend group at Hope's Peak, and they got along great. When she was 14, she was invited for an end of summer bonfire on the lake close to their home. She asked her Dad and he allowed her to go, and so she went.
This was the night she would get her phobia of big bodies of water.
Some time into the night, as a prank, they dunked her under the water. She hadn't had time to breathe and when they let her back up she was almost unconscious. She was so terrified and traumatised by that experience that she avoided water for a long time after, scared of even the smallest puddle. But, slowly, she recovered, and though she still can't take baths or go swimming, she has calmed her fear enough that she can do basic daily activities involving water.
She lived happily at Hope's Peak, and as her talent grew, people began to notice her internationally, and she found herself showered with attention online all day every day from people wanting to commission her works. However, she couldn't start a business until she was 18, so she never got to sell her works. She began getting selfish and uppity because of the fame.
Close to her being taken into the Killing Game, she drew a masterpiece, a piece of work which she knew was the best thing she would ever create. She immediately went to her Dad and asked him to get her the things she needed, but he was having financial struggles and couldn't. In a fit of anger she threw the design away. It is her biggest regret so far in life and she feels severe guilt over her fight with her Dad and the loss of her design.
How would they kill: Alex's kill would be messy and easily solved. She would use a knife or some sort of sharp object to stab her victim with. She would pretend to be the victim's friend and take them somewhere secluded before stabbing them. However, she would probably miss vitals and end up severely injuring them instead. She will panic and run away, leaving the victim in severe pain. She isn't good at debunking evidence and is more likely to confess as soon as she sees everyone else due to the guilt.
Execution: 'Alex Okari has been found guilty' appears on the screen as a metal hand takes hold of her waist and pulls her backwards.
She is taken into a big workshop, with woodworking machines twice the size of her all around. She dons her pair of safety goggles and turns to her right, where an obstacle course of different machines awaits. She gives everyone a determined grin as she faces the obstacle course head on. The first obstacle is a circular saw, which she easily ducks under and out of the way of. Next is a sanding machine, which she has to edge along while its turned on, its spinning threatening to catch her coat and send her into its spiral. She passes that, and, with her confidence up, she makes for the next obstacle. She runs along a plank of wood while a drill drills holes all around her, and she has to dodge the holes. She is about to reach the end of it, when her foot falls in a hole and she trips. She rolls over to see the drill bearing down on her, and she freezes in absolute terror, watching it come closer, closer...and then it seems to break down.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Alex pulls herself out from under the drill and, hopes up, she reaches the end of the plank and jumps to the ground. She has no idea where to go next. She looks around, confused, and then turns to the others. She's excited. She's beaten Monokuma's punishment.
And then the floor under her begins moving. She looks next to her to see a big planing machine, and Monokuma turning the wheel to make it smaller and smaller, so it's at the height of her body. She tries to run away, but the floor under her moves faster and faster until she trips, falls, and is sent into the planing machine. A little wooden coffin comes out the other side, their name engraved on the top. Just as everyone thinks its all over, the coffin, terribly put together, breaks apart, and Alex is not inside.
Extra Info: As seen in their backstory, Alex is deathly afraid of large bodies of water. She may seem like she doesn't really care about others at first, but if people manage to get past her big personality they'll find a caring, quiet person underneath. Alex loves the outdoors due to going on many camping trips with her Mum and Dad when they were younger, and though she's brash and loud, she enjoys sitting in silence and enjoying nature. Alex's favourite activity is to find a nice spot after a long hike and watch the sunrise/sunset in silence with friends or family. So Alex is the main character in my Danganronpa fanfiction, accurately and creatively named 'The Killing Game'. (Sarcasm)
This is 100% not promotion for my fanfiction which you should not go and read....*raises eyebrows*
Also in the fanfiction her character is genderless. 🤷♀️ So if her character design was male she would wear the same outfit but without the skirt, just bike shorts or three-quarter pants.
