Personality: Shinji is blunt and brutally honest all the time, since lying is bad.  He doesn't actually know what's right and wrong, leading to a lot of bad things, and he can be incredibly insensitive to people.  He has very little empathy for people and doesn't really care about anyone, so he never really feels bad for his actions either.  A lot of them can be quite messed up too.  He's pretty much always confused, and is very curious and tries to do research on everything he wants to find out, and keeping information from him can be used to manipulate him a bit.  He is very attached to his journal, and and will be pretty stressed and pissed if anyone takes it.  He can also do pretty reckless and stupid things for the sake of finding stuff out.
I like his personality.  He's a very interesting character, and I like his mix of good and bad points, as well as the idea that he's very attached to his journal and can be manipulated with his curiosity. He's kind of cute, in a weird way (even though he's blunt and insensitive lol)

Appearance: Fluffy silver hair with an ahoge, blue eyes and glasses.  Wears a black hoodie with rolled up sleeves and cat ears on the hood, a silver necklace and silver friendship bracelet.  He also wears a black fingerless glove on his left hand, brown jeans and black and white sneakers.
Nice design!  However, I would recommend maybe adding something that has to do with his talent? Otherwise it's a simple design and I like it!

Sexuality: ???

Backstory: Shinji grew up in a rich, prestigious family.  His parents were almost always busy with work, so the kids usually just stayed with a babysitter as they grew up.  Shinji struggled a lot socially and was mostly on the outside, just doing stuff by himself, although his twin brother would try to be with him as well.  Else he just felt like he didn't understand the other kids, and was determined to try to understand how he could be normal.  However when he was 5 his parents realised how much more attention and help he'd need, and they decided to give him to some old friends instead to save themselves the work and be able to focus on their jobs. 
He felt really upset over that, however his new neighbour, a girl his age named Miharu, decided that she wanted to get to know him.  He actually found a bit of comfort in being with her and appreciated having one friend at least.  The two went to school normally, although as Shinji grew up his goal of becoming normal and understanding others twisted, he lost sight of his good intentions and instead his lack of empathy and common sense twisted into it, making his new experiments pretty messed up instead.
I really like his backstory!

Ultimate: Sociologist.
I like the idea of a sociologist being quite antisocial, I feel like it could work, you'd just have to make sure you were doing it properly. Take Gundham, for example. You'd think a breeder would have a much different personality to his, but when he's around animals his personality seems to completely change. You could do something like that with Shinji, and I think it would be really cool!

Reaction to seeing death: He doesn't care about the body, however he's very interested in the other's reactions.

Reaction to being accused: Probably just confusion and a bit of stress, he'd probably not do much (and if he did it'd most likely just be pretty self-destructive).
I like this!

How would they kill: Accident during some bad experiment, or if he has an actual reason to, something brutal to prove a point to the victim.
This suits him.

Overall, I like Shinji and think he's an interesting character with lots of potential!
