"Hey," She paused, "do you know why we're here?"
He shook his head, looking around.
The hallway was long, dark and empty, the only light coming from the very end.
She gripped his hand and tugged him along.
"An escape." She said.
"But what if-!" He was stopped.
"I have hope. I have hope for the future." She continued walking, and the source of the light suddenly came into focus.
A staircase covered in bars sat in front of them, and right behind the bars was a light, shining on them.
"Hey, how are we getting out?" He asked, running a hand through his hair.
"There's a way. There's always a way." She replied.
"But you were wrong." A high-pitched voice spoke from somewhere, echoing down the hall and striking fear into the hearts of the pair.
"You got it wrong. You got it wrong, and now you have to pay the price." The voice continued.
He looked up at her, caught a glimpse of her terrified eyes, and a rumbling sound suddenly emanated from behind her.
She never had a chance to turn around.
And, as he watched, he suddenly realised.
He had never gotten the chance to turn around either.
And he knew.
This was just the beginning.
It was going to drag it out, and then he would die.
"Ufufufufu, such despairingly wonderful content! I wonder...what comes next?"
