i'm not going to new canaan
although it is tempting, i must refuse
it is too far, too long of a journey
water and food and sleep run scarce
do i have what it takes?
back in a canaan of old
alongside jericho, the people all fought
these battles to live, to survive, i teach this
my children nod in agreement
do they understand me?
new canaan is a town
in fairfield county, connecticut
i never thought, it crossing my mind
a mystery similar to what inhabits it
do i take the chance?
i may go to new canaan
someday, when i can drive
without repercussions, without fail, i'll ride
the world lies ahead
i can see it now.
