flowers don't grow if they don't have water
but i am not one to simply wither
i am more resilient, evergreen
and furthermore i am not a delicate flower
a delicacy among the thorns, i am
weak but not broken, i am not
ready to grow with the water provided
thus i will not, i shall not drink
even as the raindrops gather and hum
cleansing melodies that drip down the fence
i will not be tempted by these atrocities
of living as i should
instead of going exceptionally insane
vibrant petals surrounding me in my wake.
