we're here
tap my shoulder in the middle of the night
i'm off again, drifting in the breeze
hoping maybe someday i'll run far enough
that home will be so behind me
to a point where i'll encounter it again
you're here
blue night, blue smile, blue eyes
strike that last one, but the light seems to hit you
a computer generated glow seems so natural
you're not sad, just being within yourself
there's few moments
where we both abandon our keyboards
i'm here
waiting for you to tap my shoulder again
tell me about your day, the newest update
anything and everything trivial and not so much
i could listen to you for eternities stuck
to you in this little gumball bubble of our own
just to catch another glimpse
of what made you a characterization of yourself
they're here
a silver ball is the last ornament placed
but our hearts twinkle in time with the star
you or the tree, it could be this way
in another reality of mine, where dreams
of cream ponies and flickering fireplaces
and you, wavering along to the world's rhythm
sing a lullaby for the folks before you head off
and slumber among stars like you
everything's here
in this millisecond
i am breathless
stunned at your stunning
to miss you would be a sin
but lord, i am lucifer
fallen from your graces as you ascend
everyone has stopped
but i am still moving as i always have
loving you in this blue room with walls repainted.
