Epilogue

                                                                                    2 years later

            Rebecca sat on the front porch in a rocker, facing the corral, next to the barn. She smiled as Kyle she watched Kyle teaching Addie how to ride the pony they bought for her birthday. This would be the first time she rode a pony all by herself. It was hard to believe it had been two years since her last surgery, she was fine now, and actually growing so quick it was hard for them to keep up. Even her doctors were surprised at the strides she had made. Kyle of course says, it was less to do with the medical aspect and more to do with having a mother like Rebecca.

        Tyler walked up the steps and said "Mom, can Bo stay the night? I promise we won't be too much trouble. I'll make sure we do stuff Addie can do too." Rebecca laughed, Bo and his family had moved to town a couple months ago and the boys had been inseparable since. She smiled at her son, and replied "It's okay with me as long as Daddy says it's okay. You will have to wait until he's done with Addie's lesson to ask though." Tyler nodded, then ran inside to clean up his room, knowing that would help his father's decision.

      Rebecca placed a hand over her bulging stomach, she knew it wouldn't be much longer, days maybe. A few minutes later, the second kick was accompanied with a sharp pain. Rebecca took a deep breath and let it out before texting Katie.

Rebecca: Katie, Can you come over?

Katie: What's up?

Rebecca: Pains with the kicks now, I think it might be close.

Katie: On My Way!!! Time them!

        Rebecca put down the phone and took another deep breath. Tyler came out a few minutes later and Rebecca asked him to get her a drink, which he did right away. He looked at her when he handed her the glass, her hands were shaking a little. Tyler said "Mom, are you okay? You don't look right." Rebecca smiled at him and nodded, she said "I'm fine Tyler, I think this baby is going to join us soon. Can you please go tell Daddy I need him to come up to the house?" Tyler nodded and ran of the porch just as Katie arrived.

          Katie took one look at her and said "Is your bag packed?" Rebecca laughed and said "Since last week's appointment." Another contraction hit stronger than before, after the breathed through the pain, she said "That was 5 minutes, and stronger. Is Kyle headed this way yet?" Katie looked back towards the barn and laughed, she saw Kyle with Addie in his arms, walking so fast it might be jogging. Katie said "Yup he's on his way. I will call the doctor, and Kyle's parents! Where's your bag?"

           Rebecca answered her questions just as Kyle reached the porch. He took one look and sat Addie down, He said "Addie go in the house." When Addie had entered the house, he said "What is it Baby?" Rebecca smiled and said "Pretty sure it's time to go. Contractions are 5 minutes apart and strong." She cried out as another one hit, she gripped the arm of the chair as it drug on. Kyle looked at the time on his watch just as Katie ran out the door. Katie said "You may not have time to make the hospital that one was 3 minutes from the last one. Dr. Pruitt is two farms over with a sick kid, want me to call?"

         Kyle looked to Rebecca who nodded her head, Katie picked up her cell and called. After she explained the situation, she made several uh-huh noises. When she hung up she said "Doc is on his way, he said to get her in bed and bring several towels, boiled water, and a blanket to wrap the baby in. He said to cover the bed with something you can throw out." Rebecca instructed Katie where everything was while Kyle helped her to their bedroom. As he settled her into bed, another bad contraction hit, 2 minutes from the one before. Rebecca took a deep breath and said "Doctor better hurry or he's going to miss it."

          They heard Tyler instructing the Doctor to the room's location, just as the next contraction eased. The doctor walked in and said "Well now let's get this impatient sprite out into this world shall we?" Rebecca nodded as she panted through another contraction. The Doctor checked her out as Katie left to check the kids and call everyone. The Doctor laughed and said "This one is mighty impatient, I can see the head. On three I want you to push." So when the doctor counted she pushed, once, twice and then she heard her baby's cry.

          The doctor said "Well now you have a handsome baby boy, but it looks like we aren't done yet." As he handed the baby to it's father, Kyle said "What do you mean?" The Doctor laughed and said "I don't suppose you knew you were having more than one, did ya?" Kyle looked at Rebecca and shook his head, No, they didn't know, he said "The sonograms only showed 1." The Doctor instructed Rebecca to push again, which she did three more times. There was another cry, and the doctor laughed " Sorry folks, hope you have more hands! This one is a girl! Lets see number three."

             Kyle blinked, then went to the door and yelled for Katie. As Katie came rushing into the room, he handed her his son, and took his daughter. Katie looked shocked, but started cuddling and cleaning the baby in her arms. The Doctor said "Okay Rebecca give me another good push and lets see if there's only three." Rebecca pushed as instructed, she was exhausted when the heard a third cry, she flopped back against the bed. The doctor smiled up at them and said "Another girl. Looks like that's it. You have triplets, and will have your hands full."

      After the doctor looked over the babies, and proclaimed them healthy, he helped settle two of the babies in their mother's arms. He said "Mom and babies need rest, but i'll stick around awhile to make sure there isn't any complications. They really should go to the hospital though, but that's up to you. Since I will sign their birth certificates." Rebecca nodded and said "You can call the ambulance Doc. I want out children to meet their siblings before we go though."

          The doctor stepped out and waved the kids in, after Katie had helped get Rebecca and the bed cleaned up. The kids were excited to meet the babies and Tyler asked "So do they have names yet?" Rebecca and Kyle smiled at each other and Kyle said "The boy with be Luke. We were undecided which girl name we wanted, we were stuck on Rose and Emma , now looks like we will have both an Emma and a Rose."
