Kyle woke up at 5 am to get ready for the trip to Dallas. He packed everything he thought he might need, this was going to be a long trip. After packing up a cooler with drinks and snacks he loaded everything up before running up to shower. Once he was out of the shower, he started breakfast for the three of them. He was drinking coffee when he picked up his phone to check his e-mail, laughing because he doubted there would be any responses. He was shocked to find 10 responses, he decided to open the first couple while breakfast was cooking. He laughed at the first 4, there was no way he was responding to them, 3 looked like city people in flashy clothes and the last he swore was a man dressed as a woman. He sat down his phone and plated up breakfast before waking and dressing the kids. After they had breakfast he sent Tyler off to gather up a few of his and Addie's toys to take. He sat Addie down in the living room and grabbed her favorite blanket and truck pillow to take with them. When Tyler came back with a bag of toys he smiled and said "Good job Ty now sit here with your sister while I load these last few things up."
Tyler watched his dad walk away and whispered to Addie "I sure wish we had a momma Addie." Addie smiled and said "Want a momma! Want a momma!" Tyler said "Shhh! Dad will hear you!" She started giggling and said "Daddy!Daddy!" Kyle walked back in hearing his daughter laughing and calling him. He had to stop and smile, he was so glad she was learning new things every single day. It always brought tears to his eyes when he heard her happy. He walked into the room and squatted down next to her. "Daddy is right here Baby Girl. I have to do one more thing then we will go bye bye. Alright?" She smiled up at him and said "Alright Daddy!"
Kyle filled his travel mug and thermos with coffee and started the dish washer before making Tyler go potty. While he waited on Tyler to get done he picked up his phone again and looked through a couple more responses, noticing there were 5 more than earlier. He glanced at 3 more and deleted them, definitely not his type. He opened the 4th one and paused reading it , half way through Tyler came out and said he was done. Kyle sighed and closed the phone knowing they needed to get going and he'd have to read it when they got there. He loaded the kids up to start the long drive to Dallas. Her first appointment wasn't until 10 am but to beat traffic he always left early.
It took him two and a half hours to get there this morning due to an accident on the highway, both kids were sound asleep when he pulled into the parking garage. He looked at the clock and noticed it was only 9 am so he decided to finish reading his e-mails while they slept. He opened back up to the one he had started reading, saw she was a pediatric nurse and loved kids and the outdoors. He scrolled down after fully reading the e-mail twice before clicking on the picture link. His breath caught, she was beautiful! She had long black hair and bright blue eyes that looked full of life. She was in scrubs that had her name on them.. Rebecca... and she was smiling down at a little kid in a wheel chair. He couldn't tell how tall she was but she sure had curves. He was shocked someone as beautiful as her would respond to his ad. He shook his head and grinned before hitting the reply button, he knew he had to respond to this one.
Re: Re: Lonely Cowboy looking for something more...
Hello Rebecca,
First I need to say you are absolutely beautiful! Also what is wrong with the men there that you have never had your door opened? Glad to see you have a sense of humor and love the outdoors. I'm very glad you decided to glance at those personal ads! My name is Kyle by the way. I have two children Tyler is 5 and Addie is 3, she is the one with medical needs. She was born with Down Syndrome, she has a heart condition , though that has been repaired for now. Her legs are also not very strong and she has to wear braces to help her walk. She is a very smart and happy little girl, we're actually at the hospital today for her check ups. You see we live in a very small town and Dallas is around 2 hours away, so we tend to schedule her apts all the same day. She has a pediatric doctor closer though, we just come here for specialists. As for me, I mentioned in my ad i'm 35 years old. I am divorced but that's a long story, she is not in the kids lives. I own my own ranch where we raise horses and cattle, among others. In my spare time (ha what's that?) I like to take the kids fishing and read. I can play the guitar, though I rarely do anymore. What else would you like to know??? How is it you don't have a boyfriend??? You said you had a sister, anymore siblings? What do you like to do in your spare time? Have you ever been on a ranch or rode a horse??? I've got several questions but that enough for now. Lol! I'll attach a photo of us, I don't think I have any without the kids in them.
Sure hope you write me back.
Kyle
He attached a couple photos , one of him and Tyler facing the camera in matching cowboy hats, the second showing him and Addie on his horse. He smiled as he sent the e-mail and closed his phone. Looking at the clock he decided it was time to wake the kids and unload. He has spent 30 minutes replying and looking at her photo. He sure hoped she replied soon.
