Kyle quietly thanked the heavens for bringing him Rebecca as he drove. He was amazed by the wonderfully sweet woman sitting next to him with her head on his shoulder. They were still an hour away from the ranch and he was fixing to have to stop for gas, so he kissed her forehead as he pulled into a station. She snuggled closer and sighed before yawning. She smiled up at him and said "Are we home?"

He laughed and said "Not yet Baby. I'm just stopping to gas up the truck and grab coffee, then were about an hour from the ranch." She pouted and said "You didn't have enough gas to get home?" He laughed and said "Probably so but better fill up now. We will be there soon Baby." She said "Well hurry up Cowboy. I'm ready to get home and into a real bed. After checking on the kids anyway." Kyle shook his head while chuckling and opened the door to pump gas, he popped his head back in and said "Baby, you might want to check on the fur ball. He was making noises that didn't sound happy the last few miles."

Rebecca stretched and reached down to take Lucifer from his carrier, he had been riding in her lap off and on through out the trip. He really had not liked the hotel, and though they let him out to roam the room they had to lock him up while they slept. She scratched behind his ear and said "Tired of that carrier boy?" Lucifer meowed at her question and she laughed. She continued petting him and talking softly to him until Kyle came back.

Kyle climbed up into the cab and saw her talking to her cat. He reached over and scratched Lucifer behind his ear and said "Okay you two another hour to go and we will be home. Then no more carrier for you Lu!" Lucifer meowed and jumped over into his lap. Kyle laughed and petted him a few times before handing him back over to Rebecca and starting the truck.

They drove while quietly talking for another 40 minutes before the phone rang. They both looked at each other as Kyle reached for his phone, seeing it was his mom he answered and said "Is everything okay?" She said "Uncle Luke had a second heart attack about an hour ago, it doesn't look good Honey. He's still in ICU and they told us we should stick around the hospital. I just didn't want to call the girls if you weren't home yet." He said "We will be there in about 20 minutes. I'll wake the girls and let them know, we will fly down if we need to." She said "I don't want you taking Addie that far from her doctors Son."

Kyle said "Mom, We will work it out. You just keep me updated and i'll call you with the girls when we get to the ranch. I love you Mom." She said "I love you too Son. Be careful driving, you have a ranch full of people waiting on you to get home." The two said their goodbyes and signed off, Rebecca reached over and said "Are you Okay?" Kyle looked over and squeezed her hand before bringing it to his lips and applying a soft kiss. He said "I'm okay because you are by my side Baby."
