Kyle answered the phone and said "Mom, what's going on with Uncle Luke?" She said " He had a heart attack and stroke. Mary is a mess right now, we will probably be here a couple weeks. Quint has our farm under control so don't worry about that. Now tell me about this girlfriend of yours that I heard about through your sisters." Kyle smiled and said "She's amazing mom. She's sweet, loving and so funny. The kids really like her, Addie doesn't like her out of sight for too long." His mom replied " That's great Son. How did you meet?" He went into the story about the ad and how they started talking, then about how her mom fell and now they were here at the ranch. His mom said " So she's moving here?" He smiled and said "Yes, were going to fly up and drive her stuff back probably in the next couple days. Greg will be here along with Alice, Rebecca's sister, so the girls will be fine. I'll be gone at the most 3 days."

She said "I'm sure they will be fine Hun. I trust your judgement with their care, that's why I need to let you know of a few things since we will be gone a couple weeks. Dad & I made a will a couple weeks ago. We left the farm in equal parts to three of you, the girls parts will be intrust if something happens before they are 18. We left custody of the girls to you Kyle. I sure hope you are okay with that?" He was choked up at even the thought of losing them, but replied "Of course I would take them Mom, they are my sisters. Y'all aren't going anywhere though." She laughed and said "Kyle, were not that young. I'm 55 and Dad is 60, we have to do this stuff while we still can. If you go into Dad's study, in his desk there is a green file. In that file there's a copy of the will, and copies of 3 life insurance policies on each of us, One from each of us goes to each of you kids. The girls of course will go into trust to you if they are under 18. There is also information on bank accounts, savings accounts and Dad's 401k. You are already on everything. We just want everything taken care of for you. In that same drawer there is a blue file and that has funeral plans, and the information on the cemetery plots. Everything is already paid for and that is all in there."

Kyle was taking notes because he knew she would ask. She said "Did you get all that down Son?" He laughed and said "Yeah Mom I wrote it all down but I sure hope we won't need that for a long time." She said " I just needed to tell you Hun, I don't think we will. You be careful on your trip and i'll keep you updated on Uncle Luke. I love you Kyle. Tell your sisters I love them." He said "I love you too Mom." They hung up and Kyle needed to go find Rebecca, he didn't like talking about these things. He made his way to the kitchen and slipped his arms around her from behind. She smiled and placed her hands on his arms before tilting her head back to look at him. She said " You okay?" He whispered "I'm better now."

She said "Girls can you handle putting the next batch on the pans? We'll be right back." The girls nodded their heads and she lead Kyle back out if the room and to his office. Once they were there she shut the door and slipped her arms around him. After a few moments she said "Want to tell me what upset you Cowboy?" He kissed her slowly, after he was done he said "My mom just wanted to go over things incase anything happens to them. I didn't like talking about it, though they wanted me to know if the girls were underage I would get custody. I'm better now though, with you in my arms." She snuggled into his arms and said "I'm glad to oblige anytime you like." He grinned and Said "That's good to know. I might need it often, even in front of the kids. I know I said we should wait until you are sure, but you seem sure." She said "I am sure Kyle. I want to be here with you and the kids. This feels right and like this is where were suppose to be."

Kyle slowly released the breath he was holding and said "Good. You know if you leave it will crush me right? I'm already starting to fall for you." She put both of her hands on his face and said "I'm already falling for you too Kyle. I'm falling for your sweet children. I don't want to go anywhere." He stared deep into her eyes for several moments before kissing her softly. When he pulled back he held her close and laid his head over hers. She snuggled as close as she could get and listened to his heart beating in his chest, knowing one day she would fully win his heart.
