I am so angry. I hate everything. Stupid Wattpad didn't upload this chapter so here I am rewriting it and I want to rip my hair out.

EHHHHHHHHHHHH

Enjoy~

(y/n)'s POV

"So (y/n) are you going to the dance?" Zoe asked. I pulled myself out of my fixated gaze at Dan to look at Zoe.

"Uh, I don't know, are you?" I asked. She nodded.

"Alfie asked me" she said, with a wide smile and pink cheeks.

"WHAT?! AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!" I said, shaking her.

"Woah, woah calm down!" she said.

"Sorry. I'm just so happy for you!!!" I said.

"Yeah, me too. Alfie really seems to like you." Phil said. Dan nodded as well, biting into a carrot. I watched him for a second before shaking myself out of my creepy stare. I really need to stop that. Am I crushing on him? No. Pfft.

"So are you?" Zoe asked, looking at me again.

"Uh, maybe, but I'd have to go alone. People still seem to think I'm a hoe." I said, shrinking down in my spot. I heard Dan grumble something, but I didn't make it out. I just ignored it. "Are you asking Hazel?" I asked. Phil choked on his food and I widened my eyes.

"Uh, I don't know." he said once he regained his composure.

"Come on. She's clearly waiting for you to do it!" Zoe said. Phil looked over at Dan and he shrugged.

"I guess I will." Phil said.

"And you sir?" Zoe asked, turning towards Dan. He looked wary of the question and shook his head.

"Nah, I'll probably go alone." he said, his voice rather quiet.

"Oh come on, there's got to be someone you want to take." Zoe argued. He glanced over and locked eyes with me for a moment before adverting his gaze in embarrassment.

"No." He replied simply. Did he want to take me? No, that's silly. Shut up me.

"Whatever, I mean you could take someone in the friend group, but PJ and Chris are already going together." She said. Dan laughed, his genuine laugh, the one that made me smile. I felt my heart pound slightly.

"They're definitely going to wear matching suits right?" I asked. Dan laughed harder and I felt my toes curl. Everyone agreed. My dog came bounding in the room, tackling me in a hug. "Muffin, no!" I yelped as she licked my face. She got off and assessed her option of which friend to greet. She chose Dan, climbing into his lap and snuggling into him.

"Muffin. I feel betrayed." Zoe said, clutching her chest. I just watched Dan beam at the fluffy creature resting against him.

"Aww, she's already fallen asleep on me. I must be warm." he said, gently stroking the dog's fur. I watched with a gently smile as Dan looked lovingly at Muffin. He looked up from his lap to me. "What?" he asked.

"Nothing, Just the dog." I said, feeling my stomach churn. I felt Zoe squeeze my arm to which I punched her in the leg. I was not going to admit to something that isn't true.

No way.

I'm not falling for him.

Eventually everyone had to leave except Zoe who was staying for a sleepover. Phil left and I was saying goodbye to Dan at the door.

"Hey, (y/n). I was wondering if you didn't want to go to the dance alone, then you could go with me." he said, smiling. I studied his face for a few moments, in shock. "As friends of course." He said, trying to clarify his main point.

"Uh, yeah. I'd love to." I said. He nodded and we said out goodbyes. I watched him leave and I turned to see Zoe smirking in the doorway.

"You love him." she said, smiling cheekily at me.

"No. I don't." I said, cringing.

"Who?" I looked behind Zoe to see my mum, poking into the conversation.

"Oh (y/n) absolutely loves D--" I covered her mouth with my hand.

"Shush! Don't spread lies." I said.

"No, who?" My mum pressed.

"Uh, Zoe seems to think that I like Dan." I said, sheepishly, Zoe grinning devilishly at me.

"Oh, my that's very alarming." she said.

"Mum, I told you to try." I reminded her.

"I know, but I don't need you getting hurt." she replied.

"Phil seems to think they'll be good together, which leads me to believe he knows something." Zoe said. I shot her a glare as we walked into the kitchen. We all sat down and I prepared myself for the world's worst conversation. Or at least in my opinion it is.

"So, (y/n). Tell me exactly what's going on with this boy." my mum said, leaning back in her chair.

"I don't like him." I lied.

"Liar! You stare at him constantly, you're always so nice to him, and you accepted his request to take you to the dance." Zoe interrupted.

"The dance?" my mother asked. I groaned and slumped my head on the table.

"You heard him Zo, he said 'as friends of course'. It's not romantic and I don't want it to be." I said.

"You seem rather sad to say that's what it it. I think you do like him." my mum said.

"Ugh, first Phil, then Dan's mum, then Zoe, and now you? I don't like Dan." I said.

"Okay, let's try it this way. Clear your mind and I want you to answer these questions as quickly as you can." Zoe said. I shrugged.

"Peanut butter or jelly?"

"Peanut butter."

"Up or down?"

"Down."

"Run or walk?"

"Walk."

"Do you enjoy surfing?"

"No."

"Do you like Dan?"

"Yes." I slapped my hand over my mouth as it came out. "Wait, shut up. You stole that from friends." I said, shaking my head.

"But it worked!" Zoe said.

"Yeah so, now you know. What am I supposed to do about it?" I asked. "I'm waiting until it blows over."

"Hun, it's okay to like him." My mum said.

"No, it's really not. He used to be my bully and I'm lucky enough to have him as a friend right now, without all that dysfunctional crap." I said.

"Just, stick to your gut and you'll figure it out." my mum said, getting up to answer her phone. I nodded and put my head on the table again.

"Ha, lovebird." Zoe said.

"Shut up."

I guess I really am falling for him.

Wow, that's way different than last time.

Huh.

Thanks to littleseal50 for being awesome. This was their idea, for the dance and you see how it plays out in next chapters!

Stay awesome!
