Hey.

So my dance showcase was today. That was... -_-
Some of my friends came to see me dance for the first time bc I hate it when ppl ik watch me dance so that was an experience. I invited them a while back and I learned a dance that is essentially 'booty zumba' according to my friend and now I'm embarrassed 😩. Agh.

Also trying to convince my mom to let me cut my hair tomorrow. *fingers crossed*

Enjoy~

(Y/n)'s POV

"Are you absolutely sure you have everything?" My mum asked, pressing her hand into my back.

"Yes I triple checked everything."

"And you said Dan was picking you up?"

"Yes, mum," I replied.

"I don't know about you spending the weekend at a beach house with boys," she said and I groaned.

"I've been to houses for sleepovers before mum."

"I know, but a house all alone?" I raised my eyebrows and she held her hands up in defeat. I heard a short honk from outside and I grabbed my suitcase.

"Bye mum," I called, giving her a quick peck on the cheek. I left, running down the steps to Dan's car. Phil had taken the front seat to my disappointment and I climbed in the back. I propped my feet up on the seat next to me.

"So a beach house? How exciting don't you think? I packed sunscreen!" Phil said, turning around in his seat.

"Yeah okay dad," I scoffed and he rolled his eyes at me.

"Don't make me force a car game on you," he threatened.

"Oh no! Oh God anything but that!" I played and Dan smiled at me in the rear view mirror.

"Sometimes you're just too mean to me," Phil said and I shrugged, picking at the worn acrylics on my fingers. I had the desperate urge to pull them off, but I knew that would cause trouble. So I just continuously scratched at them. I laid my head back, the gentle hum of the car was relaxing.

In a quarter of a mile, turn right.

I let out a groan. I've always hated that monotonous voice because it reminded me of failed road trips within my family. The constant feeling of heat and exhaustion because dad didn't follow the godforsaken GPS. I hated it. Dan made a turn and I let out a sigh as the device spit out more directions. The drive was long and I just tried focusing in on my music rather than anything else. When Dan pulled up I yanked out my earbuds to look at the gorgeous house bordering a rather empty beach.

"Woah, score Zoe." I heard a laugh from the front and I hopped out of the car, running to Zoe. She let me tackle her in a hug to which we both laughed. "Who's here?"

"Oh, no one besides you guys. Joe's inside," Zoe said, dragging me inside. I watched her wiggle her eyebrows. There she goes again. She guided me down a hall to a large room. "I hope you're okay with sharing a bed with moi."

"Of course, you're my wife after all."

"You and that wife thing," she giggled.

"Wait till you see the ring," I said, wriggling my eyebrows. She let out an exaggerated huff and brought me back out into the main living room.

"So, beach obviously is in front and there's a hot tub out back. It's pretty frickin' huge. Uhm kitchen's that door and there's bathrooms all over the place. I think there's a fire pit out back and a fireplace in here so...yeah."

"Thanks Zoe," I said, and Phil nodded, glancing around the place.

"Ooo right, you two are sharing a room, get cozy," Zoe said as she led them back. I sat down in the warm sofa, staring at the beautiful fire place. It was so cozy in here and cool, good for the summer heat.

"Hey," I jumped slightly at the voice behind me and I turned to see Joe leaning over the back of the couch.

"Hey," I said, slightly awkward. Zoe had begun this odd thing where she believed I liked Joe. I of course did not, but she was always joking around about it. I had only talked to Joe a couple of times when Zoe was around and it was always awkward due to the first time of me meeting him. I was over at Zoe's and had honestly no idea she had a brother so when she introduced me I was a little in shock at not knowing. I had managed to trip over my own feet and accidentally tackle the total stranger within seconds of me saying hello.

I watched him leap over the backside of the couch next to me. I laughed slightly as his butt hit the edge of the seat and he cursed.

"You like the house?" He asked, a grin on his face.

"Yeah I do, it's really nice," I replied.

"Wait!" My head whipped around and Zoe came barreling towards me. I shrieked as she tackled me off the couch and onto the floor. I glanced up at her and she was hovering over me. "You didn't save me a spot."

"What the hell so you think the left side of me is for?!" I asked.

"Oh right," she called. She pecked me on the nose and sat upright so that she was sat on my stomach.

"Zoe, you're crushing me," I said and someone dragged her off my torso. I glanced up at Joe who had saved me. I smiled and helped myself up. We heard a car pull up and Zoe leapt up, her face bright.

"More people!!" She yelled, rushing out the door.

"What is she on?" I asked.

"She had a little panic attack earlier, she's a little hopped up right now," Joe said and I frowned.

"Poor girl." I sighed. "Hopefully she'll have fun during the weekend."

"Yeah I really hope so. The whole divorce thing has been hitting her hard," he said. I felt a large pang of sadness as I watched Zoe wildly pull Hazel and Sophie to one room and PJ and Chris to another. I furrowed my eyebrows as she came to hug me again. No wonder she had been so clingy. I hugged her back. I wasn't about to let her slip again. Not on my watch.

Yas bitch

Stay awesome!
