(y/n)'s POV

"Woah, that's loud." I commented, standing outside the gym.

"Yeah, we'll be fine." Dan said, smiling. I felt a small hand grasp my wrist and I glanced over at Zoe. She was holding Hazel's arm in her other hand.

"Let's go!" she said. She pulled me along and I waved to Dan to make him follow us. He followed and I gripped his arm, Zoe pulling all three of us now.

There were bright gold, purple, and green Mardi Gras decorations for the dance theme. They played popular songs, booming and vibrating so loud that you could feel it in your chest. Some people were drunk, though they shouldn't be, from before parties and such. Heck I even think I saw a bottle being passed around. Someone handed to it me and I just passed it to the next person, not wanting whoever's mouth germs on mine or the alcohol within the vessel.Eventually Zoe and Hazel headed for snacks and Dan went to find Phil and Alfie leaving me alone. I strolled carefully, watching the different types of people all herded into the gym.

People were mulling around, not really dancing, sipping punch or munching on snacks while they chatted. The DJ honestly looked rather bored to be here, playing music for no one.  They started a familiar song and I bobbed along.

It was so empty on the dance floor and I saw an opportunity, seizing it. I casually slipped off my shoes and Zoe came up next to me.

"Can you put these in my locker?" I asked, knowing that she knew the combo. She nodded and started walking away, watching me. I walked onto the desolate dance area gaining a few stares. As I made my way to the middle, word had quickly gotten around and people were watching. I turned to face the DJ who was watching me curiously. I started dancing, knowing that no one else was going to, as it was just 'too embarrassing'. I jumped around, dancing like I would if I were alone in my room, not caring about who was watching me. I saw Phil standing by the side just watching me and I waved to him. His face went red as people all turned to look at him. He slunk back and I sighed, continuing to dance, rolling my body to the music.

"Freak!" I heard someone yell. A few people laughed and I shook it off, knowing that particular person would start dancing when there were more people. I shook my hips when I felt a hand grab my wrist.

"Hey." Dan said, his face red. "What are you doing?" he asked. I looked around for a second.

"Uh, dancing." I said, continuing. He just stared at me awkwardly and I did another body roll followed by an awkward looking pose. He smiled and shrugged. He started to dance with me, doing the sprinkler ironically. I broke out into laughter and Zoe and Hazel came running out onto the floor. Hazel waved over Phil and Alfie followed. Eventually, almost everyone had filtered onto the floor and I smiled to myself.

I started that.

People can make fun, but you just have to realize. If you have fun, why should you care?

They put Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake and I smirked converting my dancing to a sexier style. I felt a few eyes on me.

"Looking sexy (y/n)!" I turned to look at a group of boys yelling from the side. I recognized that same boy. Brad was it? (Ha. subscribbletoshane)

He eyed me and I turned away. He was friends with Austin. But he forgave me. I continued dancing until I felt a pair of hands rest on my swiveling hips. I turned quickly to see Carson standing there. He had a small posse behind him.
