(Y/n)'s POV

I tapped anxiously at the edge of my desk for the last final exam period to end, signifying the end of my sophomore year. It was jam packed with the strangest things, some good but mostly bad, and all I wanted was to leap out of the class and onto Dan's back where he would be waiting.

I had dared him to put me on his back and run through the hall screaming freedom on the last day and I was excited for it to happen. I watched the second hand pass and the familiar ring. All the kids in my class jumped up and Zoe grabbed my hand, tugging me from class.

We both darted out of the class and down the hall where Dan and Phil were stood, facing the opposite way. Zoe let me go and I jumped up on Dan's back, letting him catch me as he stumbled forward.

"Go!" He took off down the hall, kids darting out of our way as he screamed. Oh my God I didn't expect him to actually do it. Once we got outside Dan and I were laughing too hard to say anything so he just dropped me in the grass and fell down next to me. I was laughing so hard tears were streaming down my face.

"Oh my God!" Dan laughed.

"I didn't think you'd do it!!" I giggled and Zoe and Phil came up next to us, stifling laughter at the two idiots in the grass. I pressed a hand to my stomach, doubling over in the grass.

"Come on idiots," Zoe said, nudging me with her shoe. I pulled myself up, still laughing and held out a hand for Dan which he took.

Dan and I had been extremely close the past few days, ever since the wonderful surprise he had arranged. I had definitely fallen for him big time. There was no denying it. He helped himself up with my grip, both of us now red in the face from the warm spring sun and our giggling.

We all began walking along and somewhere in the beginning I had climbed back up on Dan's back, letting him carry me. I just hugged his back, letting the warm sun hit my skin.

"Hey guys! I was wondering if you guys wanted to come to my uncle's beach house in a few days," Zoe interrupted.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, he was talking about using it when he was a teenager and offered to let us stay there a few days!" She said. I watched her do a little skip. It was great to finally see her happy after her break up with Alfie.

He just sort of disappeared after, throwing himself into football. Phil and Hazel were still strong so I decided she should come.

"Hey Phil be sure to invite Hazel and we'll get you two a room!" I said. I felt a slap at my back and I laughed.

"Yeah I was thinking us, Hazel, PJ, Louise and her boyfriend, and--" she cut off and I looked over to where she was looking. Alfie and a few football guys were chatting under a tree out front.

"Zo..." I warned and she shook her head.

"I know, I know," she said, "That's it then."

"Zoe!" Alfie called and all of our heads whipped towards him. He began to come out way and I gripped Dan's shoulder so that he'd let me down to where I was stood beside Zoe. "Zoe can I please talk to you?" She seemed to stand hunched when he was near, struggling to make a decision.
