Xuan's POV

Dear Diary,
I think MiLoh decided to sneak back to Bandset Girls' today cos i heard from Rathi that he apparently left his nailclipper at his old spot and came back to get it. Of course,we didn't really have much time to care about that, because it was raining, and Diya still wanted Combine in the canteen. I think it was because she had found the ancient "How to Train Your Dragon"scores and really wanted to play it.

I remember playing it when i was still studying in Bandset Girls'. It was a magical piece that had gotten stuck in my head for weeks, and i listened to it almost everyday. I did see something once about this piece giving the spotlight to some of the instruments that never got noticed, namely the French Horns,Double Basses,Trombones,Euphos and Tubas. (Any trombone/tuba/trumpet/double bass/french horn players here put yo hands uupp!!!!!)the movie was also SUPERB,one of the BEST i had ever watched before. I kinda want a dragon, but being a Potterhead we all know it's illegal. But still!!!!

Anyway,so many of us wore our Band sweaters out to the cold, windy weather. The weather did NOT match anything that said "Berk",but the music still rose like the unveiling of a painting. The first few parts really emphasized the Vikings in Berk, and the dragons soaring high in the sky. Did i mention the basses had a really manly part in this? It was a rare occasion we got actual melodies, and we sounded so mighty and grand i was about to stand up during that part and do one of those battle cries.

"No no! The front part is soft! Also trombones,y'all are kinda out of tune." "Mark my words,Diya is really turning into another Ms Siew,"whispered Yang, and we giggled silently. She was starting to resemble our old conductor a bit,and we remembered all the times she had made fun of us or complimented us about something. The chance of us getting complimented last time was about as rare as a bass instrument getting a melody. "And BASSES!!(basses refers to all bass instruments, not just double bass)Y'all have a melody here, play it loud! Woodwinds, soften a bit so they can be heard!!" "Yes Ma'am,"the band chorused.

I think it was around this time that we caught sight of MiLoh. I'm pretty sure Diya didn't,but she might have sensed it because i saw her eyebrow twitch. We were playing at bar 64,where the french horns were playing the chorus, and then our favourite part came. Bar 80 was about the best part of this song. The flutes had this really beautiful melody,i think it's called "Forbidden Friendship",where Hiccup and Toothless are tryna make friends or something. Everytime i hear it i feel really emotional because it never fails to tug at my heartstrings when i recall those tough times when i was fighting for my position back in the Band. MiLoh emerged as soon as the flutes started bar 80,and for a moment was so mesmerized by it he just stood there, staring at us with what looked like a faint smile on his face. That melody does bring back memories, and i could see him having a flashback of his time here at Bandset's. His eyes were blank,he stared into thin air,and we could all suddenly feel that strong connection once again. Tetra was playing, she didn't get to see him,but i wad pretty sure she could sense his presence as well. I could see her trying to turn without being noticed by Diya, and that hope in her eyes matched so well with the melody i wanted to cry all over again. (Author's note:PLEASE READERS YALL GOTTA LISTEN TO IT ITS SO HEARTWARMING LISTEN TO IT ON YOUTUUBBEEE) so,MiLoh stood there, listening and bringing back memories of the past Band. Yokie gasped silently, and Jo's eyes widened when they spotted MiLoh as well.

Then he disappeared. Right as the clarinets began their part,he walked away,as though he had not heard anything or stopped there to listen. Part of me felt offended, because if he wanted to stand there he was welcome to finish listening to the song. Then Diya came up with a crazy idea that only i could've thought of:to try and march everywhere(although we weren't a marching band)while playing the chorus of the song. Yang,Rathi,Jo,Yokie and i immediately pulled Tetra and Rocky and we ran towards MiLoh.

MiLoh's POV

What was that i heard? I could hear...victorious tunes. The kind that you would play if you were a soldier marching. I turned around, and the first bass melody i had ever heard blasted me in the face as they began their solo....
