Chapter 23:The Science Lab that Nearly Burned Down

Dear Diary
Today we're putting our plan into action. Xuan gave me Eew's number and i called him. "What?"he snapped. "I got some stuff i have to ask you. Since i'm a trainee teacher and you teach A Maths. I got some stuff i don't really understand."i said nonchalantly. He sighed. "Fine. At the canteen then."he grumped. I shot a thumbs-up to the group,and they sped off. I hurried to the canteen,and 10 minutes later Ed Eew came down,looking really grumpy. "What do you want?"he said,glaring at me. "I was doing something important and you had to disturb me!" "Really sorry."i said. "But do you know how to do this? Some students were asking me but i wasn't sure." I pointed at a random question i had made up. He tried to solve it but couldn't. I'll tell you a secret:There isn't any known solution to that question. Ed Eew tried to google it, and spent a lot of time trying to connect to the school's lousy wifi. After a while,he gave up and told me not to pursue the question anymore. I was so worried! I had to buy some more time! Just at that moment,the fire alarm rang and the PA system went on.
The VP announced that there was a fire,apparently,in the Physics Lab. We all hurried to the field,where to my relief,i saw Jo,Diya,Rathi,Yokie,Jian and Yang. But Xuan was nowhere to be seen.
"Where's the other one?!"i hissed frantically to my Stony Bff,who looked equally scared and worried. "I dunno! She wasn't with us when we were on the way to Ed Eew's office!"he said. I almost puked on the grass. If a student was missing and last seen with my Stony Bff,he might get into trouble. "I'm gonna go look for her. Don't tell anyone!" Before my Stony Bff could protest,i had already squeezed out the crowd due to my small size. I ran to the Physics Lab,and my jaw dropped. Xuan was dragging an unconscious Dave by one leg out of the Lab with much difficulty.
"What did you do to him?!!?!"i cried in horror. She wiped the sweat of her forehead. "Dude! When they were going to the office i saw Bella on her way there. If i hadn't come here and attempt to set something on fire,she would've found out by now what they were doing!" Shaun,the moody chemistry teacher,was standing by a smoking bunsen burner,looking furious. "She claimed she wanted to do some experiment,and nearly set fire to my lab!!"he screamed angrily. "I wouldn't say she tried to burn it down,"i said,trying not to roll my eyes. "I mean,the table's just a bit singed but nothing's damaged." Shaun looked at her,absolutely livid. "YOU'RE GOING TO GET A VERY BAD PUNISHMENT!!!!"he shrieked at her. She appeared unfazed,like as if she meant to get punished. I helped her drag Dave out while Shaun stormed off in front of us. Dave really is heavy!!
"You're not-puff-worried that you might get punished?"i panted,and she shook her head,smiling. "Nah. Shaun hates me naturally and-"she paused for a while."It's kinda fun getting bad punishments. That's what makes school exciting."
We managed to drag Dave to the sick bay. He's so heavy he nearly broke the bed. The VP and the Principal,Mrs Soh,had come to clarify things with a smug looking Shaun. "So you were doing an experiment and accidentally let the Bunsen burner go out of control?"the VP asked Xuan. She pretended to look sorry,and i must say,her acting is pretty good. "And i'm really sorry about it."she said 'sadly'. "And...what happened to Mr Chang?"sighed the VP,pointing at Dave who was still unconscious.
Xuan tried not to snigger. "He...he fainted when he saw the fire growing bigger."she choked,and i couldn't help but smirk.
We met up with the rest in the toilet later,and my Stony Bff was so,so angry that he nearly punched her. Instead,he just gave her a good,tight slap right across the face. Yang doubled over in laughter. "Where were you when we were in Ed Eew's office?!?!"he said,enraged. "If you were missing i could've been kicked out of the school! Dang you!!!!" "Sorry man,"said Xuan coolly,rubbing her cheek where he had hit her. "But i saw Bella walking to his office. I was scared she might find out. What did you find in his office anyway?"
Jo wrinkled her nose. "Oh,he's just plain disgusting."she said. "We saw an actual woman sleeping under his table." I laughed like a hyena. "He DID say he was doing something important,"i said,and my Stony Bff smacked me too. "We saw these weird papers. I think he was going to pass them to Bella."he said,showing me pictures. The plan on the papers said that after i got the Band Gang kicked out of Band,he would rescue them like a hero and be liked by everyone. So he was making me the bad guy!!
"What!!"i said,enraged myself now. "How can he make me a bad guy?! Imma good guy!!!" My Stony Bff smirked. "Who cares if you're a good guy or a bad guy,you're always gonna have fangirls,my sexy little Milo packet."he laughed at his own lame joke and ruffled my sexy hair. (But i am quite sexy ok. That's why Clarice likes me.)(ok,not quite sexy. I'm EXTREMELY sexy ok lol)
And THEN-i caught sight of the woman Jo was talking about in his phone. "WHY'D YOU TAKE A PICTURE OF ED EEW'S WOMAN,BRO!!!"i screamed,horrified. My Stony Bff rolled his eyes. "It's not what you think,frend,"he said. "When we defeat Ed Eew,we're gonna use this as a bonus punch."said Diya. "So in case we don't succeed,this is a super good reason to kick Eew out as well."

Ps. Golly,i'm glad everything worked out and that we were all safe. I mean,Xuan will be doing punishments from Shaun,but it was quite an entertaining episode,eh?
