Crazy things that Band Geeks do 101

Xuan's POV

Dear Diary,
Today was pure Band madness. So Diya decided she wanted the alumni(namely us)to have a mini combine by ourselves with some of the woodwinds while she conducted the schoolkids. I honestly think this was a huge mistake because she had forgotten everything that could happen when the conductor is not around.

1. Acting out all the movies of which the songs we are playing. Me and Rathi got into a "fight",Rathi pretending her bow was a light saber and me brandishing the valve oil at her like i was a pirate. It was a Star Wars plus Pirates of the Caribbean combine. The woodwinds doubled over in laughter as Rathi very gently tried to prod me with her "light saber",in fear that it would break if she hit me too hard. I,on the other hand,was waving my arms about screaming,"COME AT ME MEH HEARTYYYYY" Really,all the things that the woodwinds go through. Well this is what you get when you hang out with Brass and Strings.

2. We tried each other's instruments. Nobody really wanted to try my tuba because my mouthpiece was huge and gross and always covered in saliva,but i did try eupho. I just made it sound like a tuba,honestly. My lips weren't thin enough to play super high notes and Yang whacked me when i told her her eupho was just a replacement for a tuba meant for higher notes.

3. We went around the school scaring people. Yep,you heard that right. Yokie crept up behind unsuspecting teachers,then "BOOP" blasted a random note next to them. Most of them dropped their things and screamed. MiLoh was our favourite target. He happened to be there today,and Yokie blasted her trumpet in hid ear because he's the same height as her. Poor MiLoh screamed like girl and jumped,dropping his computer. MSB still hasn't stopped laughing. Jo also scared teachers by very slowly extending her slide,and then gently prodding them. This wasn't even scary,i had no idea why some teachers looked so harassed after that. And for the finishing touch,i ran all over the school screaming and waving my tuba around to scare them. They thought i had probably taken drugs and was on high,and didn't want to die. Personally,scaring MiLoh was the best,because he's so small he can probably fit if i put my tuba over him. And we haven't cleaned the inside of the tuba in years.

4. Finally,we became a temporary marching band. I was surprised the woodwinds would agree,because they are usually lethargic and don't wanna do funny things. But they agreed,and we marched around the school playing "How to Train Your Dragon" and sounding really grand. Dance,Drama and some other Sports CCA people actually came to video us as we totally rocked the music. Diya came out at that moment,and was totally astonished. "HEY Y'ALL!!!"she screamed,sounding like Ms Siew,the old conductor. "ALTHOUGH Y'ALL SOUND NOT BAD,THIS AIN'T A MARCHING BAND! NOW GET BACK IN HERE!!" We laughed in unison and finished the song,marching back to the Band room where home was.
