MSB's POV

Sometimes the annoying thing about being in band is that you see all the wonderful things happen outside but you don't get to experience any of that. Flashback to one of those movies where the kid stares out of the window and watches the other kids at the playground having a blast. Replace 'window' with 'band room', you get our exact situation. Only our band room is underground, so we don't get to see anything. Oh well.

This year's Sec 4s finally stepped down after SYF, and the band continued with a few other pieces finally. You know, hearing them play something different really is strange, especially after you hear them play the same 2 songs for like, 6 months almost. It is a nice change though.

As usual, lots of stupid things happen daily. Just last week the Sec 1s had sectionals by themselves in the classroom block. I honestly don't know who trusted THEM to practise by themselves, especially you see their motivation level. HOWEVER i'm not going to say anything, i know somehow at least a few of them will blossom.

Anyway, they had their sectionals as per normal. Then at around 5, when I was watching everyone in combine, i saw, at the side of my eye, 2 sec 1s going to the other teachers and whispering urgently.
"What's the matter,"i said dully as MiLoh scuttled over.
"Uh...they...uh..." Why was he stammering?
"What did you do MiLoh?"i said suspiciously. He glared at me and smacked my hand
"I didn't do nothin' wrong! Them Sec 1s got their own batch mate stuck in a classroom!"he protested.

I thought i heard wrongly. But MiLoh repeated what he said, and before i could even ask how i burst out laughing. Diya glared at me for interrupting the piece. MiLoh pushed me to a more secluded corner, ordering me to stop shaking so much.

"Don't be such a baby will you! One moment you give us all a black face then the next you're hooting away like a drunken hyena. Really man, your mood swings are not appreciated."
"But-but HOW EVEN-i mean-"I managed to choke out, wiping away tears.
"There were 3 of them in the classroom. 2 took the books and stands and came back here. When they went back to take their instruments, the 3rd was locked. Possibly because she dropped something and when she bent down, the school caretaker locked the classroom without thoroughly checking. Can't really blame them though. Hard day at work, and there are like, 26 classrooms PLUS science labs and all."he explained. It still took me a good 3 minutes to stop giggling.

The other 2 band teachers went to get the key from the General Office while the 2 girls followed them. Luckily, they were able to rescue that poor girl stuck in the classroom, quite alright but a bit shaken. They even managed to miss a good 90% of combine, much to the conductor's irritation.

That's why we never leave our stuff unattended.
