Gross Things that Happen

MSB's POV

There are times in life when you cannot feel anymore grossed out than you already are. Then again, there are. And those only make you a lot more cautious of your surroundings than you already are.

Having a bird shit on you is one of the grossest things that can ever happen. Really, being taken as a rubbish disposal or even a toilet is very discouraging. Not to mention it's very germy.

MiLoh and I were jogging in the park one weekend in the morning. The weather was unusually beautiful, and I actually thought it would be a great day. And I was truly mistaken.

"Race you to that tree!"shrieked MiLoh all of a sudden, and I felt my legs racing as fast as I could as I tried to overtake him. MiLoh can be such a kid, but he helps you see the kid in you too. I hadn't run so fast since Rocky was a toddler and was heading towards a busy road junction, unaware that she was about to get herself killed. I had raced faster than I had ever seen myself go, maybe even faster than Sonic the Hedgehog, and scooped her up right before her foot touched the road. MiLoh gaped at me for almost an hour.

Anyway, we ran and ran because MiLoh, in an attempt to tire me out, had run in weird patterns and circles, and for some reason my legs very brainlessly followed him on the same ridiculous route. I need to remind myself to give my legs more brain food so they know where they're going. Thankfully, I was quite fit so I had no problems practically chasing him around the entire park before reaching that damn tree.

We stayed for a while under the tree, huffing and puffing to catch our breath. MiLoh looked at me, smiling. "That was...fun wasn't it...haven't run like that in....a millenium..."he said breathlessly. I nodded, unable to speak at the moment. It wasn't until I heard leaves rustling, and birds chirping, before it happened.

It might have happened in my youth, and it happened again. I felt something splatter onto me, too heavy to be rain, too light to be a branch. I looked at MiLoh and realised it had happened to him too. His eyes grew wider as we stared at each other. MiLoh gave a loud cry of disgust that caused everyone in the park to stare at us.
"OMIGOODDD IS THAT BIRD SHIT A BIRD SHITTED ON US EEEEEEUUUUUAAAAARRRGHHHGHHH!!!!!"

People turned immediately towards our direction and not one look was of sympathy. They either glared or ignored us, and only one kind lady offered us tissue. The next race we had was back home towards the toilet. "MOVE ASIDE MAN" "HEY DON'T PUSH ME I'VE GOT BIRD SHIT TOO" "YEAH WELL I WANNA GET IT OFF MOVE IT"

Clarice watched in amusement as we battled to get into the bathroom quite literally. MiLoh accidentally landed a punch on my cheek and I returned it with a strong kick in his shins. We ended up showering together in silence, facing the wall and only speaking when we asked for shampoo or body wash. No words were spoken as we clambered out of the toilet and attended to each other's wounds, until Tetra came in and burst out into laughter at her dad.

Even the grossest things in life don't seem so gross when it happens with a friend. It somehow draws you together, and from that day onwards MiLoh and I vowed never to race towards a tree ever again. We also vowed that we would get revenge on the bird that did it, someday....
