Lydia sat in the library with a stack of books next to her. She wasn't  sitting in the tables provided, she sat in between aisles. It was a stormy day in Beacon Hills and what better to do then read in an empty library? Nobody is here because books are either online or no one reads anymore. Since she is always here, the library people let her stay late and lock up. She was in the middle of "To Kill a Mockingbird" when the lights began to flicker. Soon she was in total darkness. "Shit." She grabbed her phone and turned on the phone flashlight. The big library doors would not budge. "Hello?" she called out. Her voice echoed. Great nobody is here. Her phone had no service and was about to die. How lucky was she?

As she ventured around the library, she heard low playing music. "Hello?"she panned the whole room with the flashlight. The light went out. "Battery died." She continued to walk in darkness. She began to follow the faded music again. "Music=Person" she thought to herself. Her arms reached out to look for someone. She walked into a chair but this chair was heavy. The music got louder as she heard a mumbled voice. "What the hell?" A familiar voice said. "Um, hi. Th-the power went off in library and my p-phone is d-dead." Lydia's people skills weren't that great. That is one of the main reasons why she read. 1) it gave her an excuse for people to not talk to her and 2) it took her away from this world where she was unknown. "Um, ok." He turned on his phone and the light hit her face. She quivered back. "Oh, sorry." She adjusted her glasses and nodded. "Lydia?" The light went to his face. "S-Stiles?" Her face turned a bright red. This is the boy she has liked since the third grade. "Here, let's find a way out."

The light of his phone lead the way but Lydia could not see that well. "Um, S-Stiles?" He turned around and they were closer than they both expected. "Yeah?" She tried to get the words out. "U-Um, I c-can't really s-see the light..." she said. "Here," he grabbed her hand "we will go to the desk. Ok?" She nodded as he led her to the desk. So many thoughts went through her head. Does he think I'm weird? Oh no, is my hand sweaty? Crap, he thinks I'm the class weirdo. I'm not like any of the girls he is- "Lydia? You ok?" "U-uh yeah." 'Well we are at the desk come on." The two walked into the big desk. A huge computer sat on top of the desk. Stiles tried to turn it on but it would not. "U-um S-Stiles?" she said quietly. H looked back at the girl pushing her huge glasses back. "Yeah?" "I-I think I-I can f-fix it.." She walked past the boy and grabbed the flashlight. The petite girl worked under the desk. Soon enough, the computers all around the teens lit up. She stood up and saw the tall boy look in amazement at her. "T-that was so cool!"She went to the computer. "All the p-power is ran through this computer.'' She quickly got in and played around with the computer. "Ok, so...." A bunch of codes popped up and she was typing up a storm. "That should-" she was cut off by all the lights turning on "turn it on." She looked up at Stiles. "Lydia that was freaking amazing! Not lets get the hell out of here."

Lydia charged up her phone while Stiles ran around attempting to get service. "S-so what were you d-doing here? I d-don't usually see y-you here. Not t-that I l-look for you b-but I-" "Tutoring but she never showed up. How about you?" She laughed to herself with a little snort coming out. Stiles's heart skipped a beat when he heard that. "This place is my second home." She looked around at the kind of old building. "No damn service." He sat on the floor sighing. She slowly sat next to him. "How have you been?"She said while tugging at her red sweater. "You know, lacrosse, girls, my grades. My life just seems like a schedule, ya know?" She nodded at his thought. "I wake up, work out in the morning, go to school, pretend to know things when actually I don't, talk to some girls, lacrosse practice, go home, and sleep. Life is..."

"Boring." They both said.

"I-I'm usually alone. At home or school. I-I don't have any friends, my mom is always gone on business, and m-my dad couldn't give a damn about me." tears almost came out thinking about her broken life. "Lyds, I know we don't talk like we used to but....I am always here. I'm still your neighbor and if you ever feel lonely, please come next door. My dad loves you and so do I. You are my best friend and I am lucky to have you in my life." Tears fell and he hugged her. "W-what happened to us? W-we used to be s-so close and t-then one day you are g-gone." He nodded. "That is my fault and I'm sorry. I've always hated myself for leaving you. Lydia, you were my safe haven." "S-Stiles you a-are still m-mine." They slowly separated and looked into each others eyes. His hands slowly went to her glasses and removed them. "W-why did y-you do that?" Their faces inches apart. "It'll be easier to kiss you without your glasses on." He almost kissed her until she spoke. "I might be really b-bad at t-this.." "That's not possible." Slowly, their lips touched and their worlds collided. All of their worries and problems left. After a few minutes they pulled away when they heard the door open. "Hello? Powers on!" A voice said. They looked at each other and got up. Soon they left the library hand in hand. "I'm sorry for ever leaving you, Lydia. I was dumb and I-" "Shhh."
