4. Excitements

I always knew that Zayn was an incredible singer so it wasn't a surprise that Simon wanted him. I, on the other hand, wasn't much of a singer. I just went up there because Zayn asked me to. I know I didn't suck, but singing was never really what I thought about doing, but when I was on that stage singing with Zayn it was amazing. After Simon came to us and talked to us about being in a band, I realized that maybe singing could be something that I actually like.

Louis was always in school plays and musicals, so everyone knew that he could sing. Niall, however, just knew how to play the guitar. Everyone knew that Niall knew how to play guitar. He would sometimes take it to school and in classes and just start playing his guitar, but I don't think Zayn, Alex, or I had ever really heard him sing. Maybe Louis has heard him sing, but I don't remember Niall ever singing in front of us.

Last week when Simon told us about him wanting to form a band, he told us that each of us would have to perform in front of him and some other people at the record label. We each got to choose our own song and we would have to perform it to them. We couldn't partner up and singing together. Simon said we'd have to perform individually, which made me super nervous.

Us four lads, carpooled in Louis's car to the building. When we got there, we were given short introductions of who everyone was and what they did and what they were looking for. Afterward, they told us show them what we've got.

Louis volunteered to go first at singing his song. He as confident, like always. He went inside the recording booth and sang Hey There Delilah.

Niall offered to go next, singing So Sick. Zayn chose to go after Niall, letting me calm down a little before I had to sing. Zayn sang Let Me Love You. He sounded so amazing, and I can't believe what an incredible voice he has.

It was finally my turn. I was more calm after Zayn sang and I went inside the recording booth. I sang Cry Me A River and afterward exited out the booth to see what the people had to say.

We sat down to talk and discuss. They producer said that he's going to listen to our performance again and think about whether he wants us or not. He said we should hear from him in a couple days to a week maybe.

On our way back home, we came across another cafe that we'd never been to and thought we'd check it out. We went inside and the whole place was crowded. The crowd was really listening to a beautiful voice that was singing. When I looked up to see who it was, I was kind of surprised. It was Harry.

We got ordered some drinks and sat down at a table. Harry and I were never really close. He seemed like a nice guy and all, but I don't know. We just never were. We had like two classes together, but he was really quiet and just didn't say much at all.

After Harry finished singing, Zayn excused himself and went up to him. I knew that Zayn and Harry were friends, more or less. I've seen them talk in school sometimes, but Zayn never really says anything about him or they don't hang out either. I don't know. I think Zayn and Harry are more acquaintances rather than actual friends, but I've seen him talk to him a couple times.

Zayn's always been a nice guy. He's friends with almost everybody at school. He's just nice that way. He befriends people that don't have friends or that are shy and everything. I love that about him. He was kind and sweet, and I was lucky to have him.

Zayn had been talking to Harry for over like 5 minutes and afterward he texted me saying, he'll meet me at later at my house. I didn't mind that he was talking to Harry and now that he was going to hang out with him. I didn't mind at all. He could have other friends and hang out with them too.
