Chapter 22

Alison lead us into Chris's study. Us as in me, Derek, Chris and Stilinski. "This is everything non-lethal I could find." Alison said. Chris exhaled. "Take all of it." Chris said. We are officially on mission "Save Stiles".Alison grabbed a bag.

"What's the plan here?" Stilinski asked. Plans, plans, plans. Who needs plans when you have teeth and claws? "Our best shot right now is for Derek and Eva to try to pick up Stiles's scent at Eichen House. Especially if he went through something stressful there." Chris said. A psycho house. No he wouldn't have gone through something stressful there.

"Should all four of us be going to the same place?" Stilinski asked. I just want to get moving. I still feel like I'm in a cage. "Where else has Stiles been showing up?" Chris asked. I sighed. Derek put a hand on my hip. He could feel my nervousness. I need to move. "School, the hospital." Alison said listing.

"Okay, hold on. We did this already. He disappeared. We started looking for him. Then walked right into a trap at te hospital." Derek said. I smiled. "Trickster's at it again." I said. Everyone is so worried about the tricks that the little fox is playing. Am I the only one noticing the problems in them all? "He's getting us to repeat the same moves." Chris pointed out. Running us in circles could keep us busy if we were stupid. But we're not. As a group at least.

"So, what do we do? Wait for him to come to us?" Alison asked. My point exactly. That is a bit of a stupid plan. "We can't. Not if the oni find him when te sun goes down." Derek said. Actually, if the Nogitsune realizes that the oni is still out there.. no. He still wouldn't come to us. He would plan it so we would come to him.

"Scott's working on them right now, with Kira." Stilinski said. Kira's a nice girl. She's better for Scott than Alison is. I'm beginning to like the idea of Alison as Isaac. "That's the problem. We're all trying to outfox the fox." Chris said. Something occurred to me. "We don't need to outfox the fox. We just need to be smarter. The problem is, right now it's two wolves, two hunters and the county sheriff against a trickster spirit. We need more than that." I pointed out. No one said anything.

"Listen. I'll understand if anyone wants to back out." Stilinski said. That hadn't even crossed my mind. It's Stiles we're talking about. We can't give up on him. Chris looked at me and Derek and then at Alison.

"It wouldn't be the first wolf to run from a fox." Derek said and grabbed a taxer and put it in a bag. "I'm not afraid of this thing." I said and grabbed a rope. Being afraid of it would be like being afraid of my past.

"Apparently I'm carrying the lightsaber." Chris said. Alison took the taxer an put it in a bag. "Dad, you, Derek and Eva hit Eichen House. Sheriff, it's you and me in the hospital. We all meet in the school." Alison ordered. Alison took the bag, which Stilinski took from her and they headed out the door.

Derek zipped the bag up and headed to the door. I could feel that Chris was up to something. He opened a book that turned out to be hollowed out. He got a gun out. "Chris." I warned. He knew exactly were I stood and nothing he said would make me change my mind. "Making sure you have a few lethal options just in case?" Derek questioned. He was questionable about Chris as well. "I like to prepare for the worst." Chris clicked in the magazine. We are not killing Stiles. There's a way to save him, we just need to figure it out.

For the second time today I made a decision. If that bullet is going into anyone, it'll be me. Whether Chris knows that or not.
