Chapter 108
Lydia and I walked into the sheriff station. We had gotten together earlier to brainstorm some ideas on how to help Parrish with his little identity problem. Lets just say, I'm really glad Lydia's insanely smart.
The two of us headed toward Parrish's desk. I stood beside him and put a hand on his shoulder. He looked up at me and smiled. I smiled and looked at Lydia who was standing on the other side of him.
"This used to be on a hard drive. But we eventually decided it might be a good idea to have a hard copy around." Lydia said putting the book on his desk. "So we put it in a book." Lydia said leaning against his desk. Yeah, it had taken most of the day to translate considering it was in archaic Latin and we had to draw pictures too. Turns out Lydia knows several languages and is an awesome artist. Basically I just added any information I could, which wasn't a lot.
"What is it?" Parrish asked confused. Lydia glanced at me and I smiled. "It's called a Bestiary." I told him. Parrish opened it to a lizard-like creature that would probably be terrifying in person. "Whatever you are, it might be in here." Lydia said. We hoped at least. "We'd like to help you figure it out." I told him. He flipped through the book a bit. The Argents had seen an impressive amount of absolutely terrifying creatures.
"But right now, you need to work." I told him. He laughed a bit and looked up at me. "See you at home?" He asked. Mmm, home. It had been a long time since I'd had one. I guess I always knew I belonged in Beacon Hills but I'd never believed it. But I'm here to stay. No more telling myself that someone or some evil was holding me here. I belong here. "Of course." I said and kissed him.
"Oh, and don't let anyone find that. Because they'll probably think you're crazy or something." I told him. He gave me a weird, amused look. "What?" I asked defensively. "It's not like crazy things haven't happened before." I pointed out as I back away from him. I turned around and walked toward the door with Lydia.
"Hey, we should go shopping later." I told her. I knew Lydia loved shopping and I was in desperate need of some new clothes considering I had thrown away a lot of them because they hadn't survived all the fights I had gotten into. "I recently got my hands on four hundred million dollars in cash and I don't really know what to do with it." Lydia looked at me surprised. "You found the money?" She asked. I shrugged. "I decided I wanted to meet Meredith. She told me where it was." She told me some other things too. She asked me to take care of Lydia and I promised her I would. I could use a girl friend to hang out with.
Meredith said some interesting things. None of them really matched up into a cohesive sentence but she's a banshee, there's no telling what she hears all the time. There was one thing that he kept saying. She kept calling me 'the seeing wolf'.
It was hard to believe she had put together the dead pool. She was so sweet and innocent. But in her defense, it wasn't her idea. Lydia had told us that her grandmother had driven Meredith insane. But I think it was Peter. "She's not a dull person to have a conversation with." I commented. Lydia nodded and smiled.
"You doing anything tomorrow?" She asked. I shook my head. "We could hit the mall here and then maybe the outlet on the other side of the county and then maybe a few more spots. I want to hear all the detail about you and Mr. Hot Deputy. And we're gonna have to get you something other than tshirts and jeans. You have one hot body and you might as well flaunt it. You're a badass werewolf, you need a badass wardrobe. How do you feel about fighting in heels?" I couldn't help but laughed at her.
We may not be able to go back to the way things were before but we were defiantly going to make the most out of our lives.
