Chapter 29

I hurried to door and shoved it to the side. Derek followed just behind me carrying Aiden and Chris behind him carrying Ethan. I run down the steps to make room for them. I say carry but it's more like drag.

Derek put Aiden down on the couch and then Chris did the same with Ethan. Derek pulls Chris and me to the side.

Derek reached into his pocket and pulled a shell out. "I found these on the ground." Derek said showing Chris. The adrenaline was finally wearing off but I was still a little shaky. "This wasn't Araya, was it?" Chris asked. Araya? Who the heck is that? "I don't think so." Derek said looked down at the shell in his hand. He exhaled sharply then looked up at Chris. "They don't look like her shells."

Chris takes the shell from him and looks at the end of it. His expression immediately changes. He looks up from the shell. "That's not possible." He whispers as he grips the shell tighter. I felt confusion and hurt coming off of him. I was going to say something but his phone vibrated.

Chris takes it out of his pocket. He answers it and looks up at Derek and me. "Alison?" He says. There's tension in his voice. "They found her. Scott found her, Dad. They found Lydia. I'm on my way." Alison says very fast. I glance the the twins. They're still alive but I'm not sure how much longer they have.

"Alison, hold on. You have to wait." Chris said. Derek looks at Chris with a strange expression. "I can't, Dad." Alison said hastily. "Alison, wait for me." He said sternly. "There's no time. It's already night. There's no time, Dad." He turned away from us. "Wait, Alison, wait!" He said sternly. She hung up on him.

Chris turned to us. I nodded. "Go." He nodded and hurried out the door. I look over at the twins again who are producing an alarming amount of black blood. "We have to do it now." I told Derek. He nodded. "We need to find a lighter." I rush over to the desk and start rummaging through drawers.

The heavy smell of death began to enter the room. They were dying and I couldn't find a lighter. I could feel myself start to panic and adrenaline began to rush in my veins. The thick smell of blood overpowered the stench of wolvesbane. My fangs tingled. The scent of blood, death and wolvesbane was overpowering and it was getting worse. It filled my head and no matter how many deep breaths I took it wouldn't get out.

I couldn't think clearly and everything in the drawers began to blur. I just kept smelling blood and death and wolvesbane. My throat was dry and the sensation in my mouth had gone from tingling to stabbing. My hands hurt and my vision was doing weird things.

"Eva?" Derek said concerned. I slammed my fists down on the desk. I was panicking and shaking. All I could think about was the blood and the pain. "I-I can't- I can't find it!" I yelled frustrated. I felt my fangs come out.

Derek looked at me wide eyed and walked toward. "Eva, calm down it's okay." I shook my head and took a step away from him. "I-I-I can't. I can't- I can't do it. I just... I- Ahhhh!" I screamed as a felt a stabbing pain in my stomach and then my vision goes black.

A bright light comes out of an oni's chest and it disappears into smoke. An oni shoves its sword into someone's abdomen. I see Alison's face.

I'm laying on the floor clutching my head screaming in pain. "Eva!" Derek's trying hold me still I scream. This isn't a vision. This is real. Everything goes black again.

I look into Alison's scared, shocked eyes. Lydia sits up. She's in a small space with Stiles. "Alison!" Her helpless scream echos.

I scream just as loud as she does. It hurts. It hurts so bad. Everything hurts. I scream. Derek is trying to calm me down but it hurts. Everything goes black.

The oni pulls sword out. Scott cries as Alison died in his arms. Everything goes black.

I'm surrounded by grey. But it seems too bright this time. It's not the muted dull grey I had recalled. I squint my eyes to try to make out the figure in front of me. I blink and my surrounding are a dull grey again and my heart stops.

The person in front of me isn't Camden or Laura or mom or dad or Boyd or Erica or anyone else that I have already talked to. My chest squeezes. It was real. Everything I had seen was real.

"Alison?" I breath out in shock. My chest hurts and I can hardly breath. "No, no, no. You- You can't be dead!" Tears fill my eyes. I breath heavy and I feel so weak. I grip my head to try to get myself out of the dream and fall to my knees. "No!" I sobbed. "No! No!"

Alison walks toward me. She crouched down in front of me and puts her hand on my shoulder. "No! You aren't supposed to be dead! You can't be dead!" I scream as tears fall freely down my face.

She sits back on her heels and puts her arms around me in a hug. I wrap my arms around her and sobbed. There's no heartbeat. I can't hear her heartbeat.

I had seen her die in my head over and over again. Why had I never realized it was her? Why?

My cousin. My blood. My family. Is dead. Alison is dead. Alison is dead and she's not coming back. I screamed in either rage or guilt or grief and the grey disappeared.

I gasp awake. "Eva! Eva, it's okay!" Derek is hovering over me putting his arms around me. "No, no, no!" I scream violently. I struggle against his grip. "Eva, calm down. It was just a dream." Derek tried to calm me down. Tears fall from my eyes. It won't work. It hurts. My chest hurts. My head hurts. Everything hurts.

"She dead! She dead!" I screamed as I sobbed. I give up my fight. Derek sits on the bed and holds me against his chest. I shake hard against him. I go from sobbing to balling.

"She's dead! Alison's dead!" I scream and I grip into his body like my life depends on it. "She's dead!" I cry.
