Chapter 58
Derek, Stilinski and I got out of the car. The IP address belonged to the high school, which meant he might be here. What exactly were we planning on doing with him if we caught him anyway? Arrest him and take him in for questioning?
The three of us headed toward the front doors of the school. A weird feeling rushed over me and I shivered. There was something strange about this whole thing. Then it hit me and I stopped. A scent. And one that wasn't good. Derek turned around when he realized I wasn't following them. He shook his head confused. "What is it?" He asked. I looked at him shocked. Did he not smell that? It was so strong. "You don't smell that?" I whispered. He narrowed his eyes at me, even more confused. He shook his head. "What?" He asked. It must just be coming from somewhere else if he didn't smell it. I shook my head. "Nothing." I said and kept walking.
Derek and Stilinski push open the doors of the school and I followed close behind. Stilinski raised his gun as he and Derek look around. Derek looked at him. "You know, just because this guy connected to the school's Wi-Fi, doesn't mean he's still here." Derek said looking at Stilinski as we walked down the hall. "True. But I've seen enough in this school to keep a gun in my hand when walking in after dark." He said. The scent hit me again and I stopped. How did Derek not smell that? There is now way that it's not in the school and close.
"I smell something." I told them. After a few more steps Stilinski stopped walking. "Like blood?" He asked. Derek looked from Stilinski to where his flashlight lingered. A pool of blood was coming out from under the door. I knew it. "That doesn't make sense. " Derek said as we walked toward the door. And that doesn't make sense. Stilinski turned around to look behind us. "Yeah, no kidding." He said. "That's not what I mean." Derek said turning around. "I should've caught the scent before we walked in." Derek said. Both Stilinski and me looked at him. He really hadn't smelled it? We turned back around to the door.
Derek walked to the door and put his hand on the handle. "Hold on." Stilinski whispered a warning rushing to Derek and grabbing his hand. Derek looked at him. "You nervous makes me nervous." Stilinski said. He shined his flashlight in the room. Stilisnki then positioned himself so he was beside the door with his hand on the handle. He slowly turned it and pulled the door open but stopped. Derek and I peered in the crack. A strange box with wires coming out of in all places read, Front Toward Enemy. "It's an explosive. A claymore." Derek said. Well, that's exciting.
I felt something behind us and my skin crawled. I slowly put my hand on Derek's shoulder and he knew what that meant. I turned around as he did. "Get down!" He yelled. Derek grabbed Stilinski and pulled him out of the way. I ducked. Just seconds later a tomahawk was imbedded into the concrete of the wall. The mouth less person jumped over the railing of the stairs and landed on his feel with another tomahawk ready in his hand landed in front of me.
I growled at him. He swung the tomahawk at me and I duck. I ran at him. My shoulder connected with his stomach and he stumbled back into the stairs. I growled and ran at him. He sung his tomahawk at me and I leaned back to dodge it. At the same time he swung his foot out and I lost my balanced. I hit the ground so hard the breath was knocked out of me.
I saw movement to my right. Stilinski had come to my defense. Mouthless hit him and he was thrown back. He rolled across the floor into the lockers. He turned back to me. I heard a roar and Derek's body hurdled across mine and hit Mouthless.
Mouthless righted himself quickly and slung at Derek who dodged it. He aimed for his stomach but Derek moved. Derek grabbed his arm and pushed him against the locker. He turned around and threw him against the floor. Mouthless rolled over and got to his feet. He swung at Derek again. Derek put his foot against his chest and pushed him back against the lockers. He raised the tomahawk above his head. Derek grabbed his arm and he lost his weapon. Derek kneed him in the side and pulled his arms behind him. I scrabbled to my feet.
Stilinski got up and pointed the gun at Mouthless. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law." Stilinski said as he made his way around him, getting his handcuffs. A figure at the end of the hall appears. Peter. "You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one..." Derek saw Peter just as I had. "No." He said. Peter ran down the hall. "No, Peter, no!" Derek yelled. Derek pushed Stilinski out of the way as Peter ran at Mouthless. Stilinski grabbed me.
The three of us fell to the ground. I looked back to see Peter slashing at Mouthless over and over again with his claws. He stopped and smiled. I got a cold feeling. The three of us sat up and just stared. Peter ripped something out of his chest and looked at it. It was his heart tore into ribbons. Peter looked up at us with this weird look on his face. His eyes stopped glowing and he let the shredded heart fall from his hand.
Stilisnki pointed his gun at him as he stood up from the body. We stood up as Peter pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and whipped his hands. Peter just stared at us and shook his head. He looked into my eyes and smirked. He turned around and walked down the hall. "We've learned a better way." Derek reminded him. "I'm a creature of habit." Peter mumbled as he left. Stilisnki exhales and puts down his gun.
