Chapter 46: Unwanted

Zeke's PoV

Honestly, i dont know what's really happening right now. Everything is being controlled by my dad. Nakakapang-sisi lang na bumalik ako dito at naniwala ako sa palabas ni Dad. Yes, he didnt had a heart attack. He just made it all up para lang mapilitan akong bumalik ng America. And he found out about Chloe. Pinapatigil niya ang communication ko sa kanya. He even said that if he caught me sneaking around para lang makausap si Chloe, hindi ko magugustuhan ang gagawin niya. I knew my father. Kapag sinabi niya gagawin niya talaga. Ayokong mapahamak si Chloe ofcourse. So i decided to stop all my communications with her. Bahala na. Alam kong dadating ang time na maiintindihan niya din ang lahat.

At ang latest na pakana ni Dad, ang pakikipagkasundo niya sa anak ng isa sa mga business partners. Nagkataon lang na filipino sina Mr. Ortega at sa apat na business partners ni Dad, siya lang ang may anak na babae. I cant believe na uso pa pala ang arranged marriage nowadays.

Sa ayaw ko man or gusto, i'm going to get married to a woman na hindi ko pa nakikilala ng personal. What if she's ugly? The hell! I think i will be the first runaway groom. Haha! Just Kidding.

"Are you ready, Zeke?" Tony asked. Sh*t! I almost forgot!

"What the fvck! I'm completely spaced!" napabangon ako bigla sa kama ko. Tonight is the so-called engagement party. Whatever! I'm not that interested. Nataranta lang ako dahil sa warning ni Dad sa akin kaninang umaga.

"I'm expecting you to be there, young man. Dont do anything that will make me and Danny's family embarass. You dont like me when i get mad." he said kanina. See?! Thats what i'm talking about. Kaagad kong isinuot ang nakahanger na suit and tie sa loob ng walk-in closet ko.

Nang makabihis na ako, pinapasok na ni Tony ang hairstylist ko. After nun, kaagad na kaming umalis ni Tony.

When we arrive at the venue, napakarami ng press sa labas. Naunang bumaba ang mga bodyguards at sumunod na kami ni Tony.

"Zeke, are you really going to get married at young age?"

"Zeke, what do you love about your fianceé?"

"Zeke, what about your girlfriend in the philippines?" napahinto ako sa huling tanong na yun. I faced the reporter who ask that question. I know that she is talking about Chloe. To protect her from this whole thing, i decided to clear this issue once and for all.

"I-I dont have a girlfriend in the philippines. I hope that this issue will end soon." then i continue to walk towards the entrance. Nang makapasok ako ay isinara na ng mga staff ang door ng venue. Isang malalim na buntong hininga ang pinakawalan ko.

"Are you okay, Zeke? I'm sorry. Alam kong hindi mo gusto ito pero—"

"Its okay, Tony. Tanggap ko na. This is my path. Kailangan ko ng kalimutan ang pilipinas. At kasama na doon si Chloe. Its for her own safety." he tap my shoulders. I know that Tony is just concern about me and my happiness. He feels that this is not what i want. But just like me, he's also following my father's order.

Later on, pumasok na kami sa mismong function hall. Sinalubong ako ng maraming bisita at piling mga press people. Karamihan ay puro kaibigan ni Dad.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the groom of the year, Mr. Zeke Anderson!" the emcee said. And everyone is looking at my direction as i walk towards the stage kung saan kami uupo ng...babaeng ipapakasal sa akin ng tatay ko.

"And the bride-to-be, the beautiful, Ms. Candice Ortega!" lumingon ako sa isang malaking door sa gitna ng stage. Everyone is waiting for her to come out. Actually, hindi pa siya lumalabas sa kahit anong interview on-screen. Kaya naman napaka mysterious ng pagkatao niya sa press people. Even i, didnt know what does she look like.

Maya-maya ay lumabas na ang isang babaeng naka floral pink na cocktail dress. Naka mask effect pa. Panget nga talaga siguro ang babaeng ito. Look at her, bakit ka pa mag mamask kung—what the... She just removed her mask. All i can say is wow. Just wow. I glance at the crowd and they all look amazed.

She's drop dead gorgeous. Ewan ko pero, for me, she's stunning. But, i didnt like her. My heart only beats for one person only, her name is Chloe Mariano.

Umupo siya sa tabi ko. She look at me and extends her hand for a handshake.

"Nice to finally meet you in person, Mr.

Anderson. I know you, but i'm sorry, hindi ako fan eh. I'm into classical music. I'm actually against rock music. I hope you dont mind." she said. Ewan ko ba, natulala nalang ako bigla. Hinawakan ko lang ang kamay nya para kamayan then inalis niya rin ito agad.

"I-Its O-Okay. I dont mind." i said.

Nakakahiya lang. Kailangan talaga nag stutter ako kapag kausap ko siya? Baka isipin niya pa na may gusto ako sa kanya. Tss.

Maya-maya ay lumabas na ang mga magulang niya at si Dad. They proposed a toast para sa amin ni Candice. They announced everything in just one night. Ikakasal kami next year. After ng graduation namin ni Candice. I have more time para pigilan ang kasal na ito nang hindi nalalaman ni Dad. I'm just curious kay Candice. She looks happy dahil nakangiti pa siya ngayon. Did she want this wedding to push through?

"Do you want this?" i whisper to her. She gave me a smile. She's damn pretty.

"No. I dont." she said.

"Then tell them."

"I already did. Many times. Pero they didnt listen to me. I'm sure you dont want this either." she said.

"Syempre, i have a girlfriend sa pilipinas. I need to go back there. I'm sure nabalitaan na niya ang tungkol dito. And i bet she's disappointed now." sabi ko. Nagi-guilty na ako sa mga nangyayari. Kung alam lang sana ni Chloe na hindi ko gusto ang mga pinapagawa sa akin ni Daddy.

"Lets make a plan. Are you in?" she said. I like her idea. Yes! A plan to escape this damn wedding. After the party, i decided to go to her place para mapagplanuhan namin ang dapat naming gawin.
