Chapter 43 - Spell

(POV Lance)

Nagsimula akong ibahagi sa kanila ang tunay na nangyari kung bakit ko hindi tinuloy ang kasal ko kay Olivia. The three of them are carefully listening, pero hindi ko alam ang nararamdaman nilang tatlo sa mga oras na ito.

Gwenevere looks sad and jealous. Tristan is also sad and angry. Elle, on the other hand, is filled with agony right now. Nasasaktan siya dahil sa kahit ayaw niya isipin, nararamdaman niya na may pagtingin pa din si Tristan kay Olivia.

Olivia was still sleeping beside me, but I can hear my heart pounding more than it should. I want to end her life in that moment, but I can't. I still love her. I decided to leave her that night and forget her for eternity.

"So you knew..." sabi ni Olivia bago ko lumabas ng pinto.

"What do you mean?"

"You were able to break free from the love spell a few days ago. You probably know my real intentions."

"Olivia, how about Tristan? Did you..."

"Of course. Two werewolves are better than one. Both of you are weaklings. You were easily captivated by my love spell."

"But I broke free, Olivia. You underestimated me."

"Olivia, you are a heartless and wicked witch."

That is the last thing that she said before disappearing right in front of me. I revealed everything that happened to Hezekiah Harrington, our First Heir. Hezekiah does not know who is the old man who help me, but I was unable to unearth Olivia's intentions because of him. Hezekiah summoned several of his trusted sons to locate Olivia, but her body was found on the dock, with a goodbye letter blaming me for breaking her heart.

The evil witch is right. I lost Olivia that night and I lost my best friend Tristan after that.

"I have a feeling that she faked her death. Someone who is after immortality and is on a mission to serve the demon goddess will not kill herself because of a canceled wedding. Hezekiah thinks that she's also alive, but for decades we are unable to find her."

"Lancelot, she's a demon now. She's powerful enough to hurt us," Gwenevere said in a worried voice. She is clearly worried na bumalik si Olivia at saktan ako.

"Sabi ni Hezekiah, Olivia is a dark witch and her first intention is to obtain a werewolf heart to gain our powers and immortality. Once she gained our powers, she will transform into a demon. "Werewolves are far superior than any dark witch in terms of skills, but a demon witch is different. Who knows how much power she gained after all this years?" sabi ko sa kanya.

"Lancelot, please take care of yourself. This bitch will find you again sooner or later. You have to tell Hezekiah that she is alive. We are already dealing with these werewolf anomalies right now and a killer demon witch is another big problem. Kakausapin namin ni Kuya Tristan si Meshach about this incident. We are a big family now. We have to protect each other."

"Then, let's end this night and think of the most viable plan that we can use tomorrow. Kailangan ko na matulog dahil may pasok pa bukas," sagot ni Elle bago siya umaakyat sa second floor.

"Eliana, wait---"

"Tristan, Lance already explained his side. Are you happy now?" inis na sabi ni Elle. 

Susundan sana siya ni Tristan, but Gwenevere stopped her brother. Tristan must have realized the mistake he did.

"Kuya, you shouted at her, remember?"

"That's why I need to talk to her. She must have misunderstood something."

"Tristan, Gwenevere is right. You unintentionally hurt, Elle. It will be her first Red Moon this coming Friday, and you know that new werewolves are edgy during the Red Moon phase. Please give her some space for the meantime."

"Give her time, kuya. If I will be in her place, I will be really pissed off. Mabwibwiset din ako sayo."

I just smiled at Gwenevere. It seems that only the older Eriksson is insensitive. The younger one has more sense than her brother. And yet, Tristan is stubborn and he did not listen to us. He left us at sinundan si Elle sa second floor.

"Gwenevere, let us keep in touch. It would be better kung di muna kayo sasabay ni Elle sa akin pag pasok sa university. You might be in danger because of me."

"Not possible, Lancelot. Three werewolves are better than one demon witch. We need to protect each other. That's the main rule of the werewolf clan."

I just smiled at her. For years, she keeps loving me from afar. She accepted an unrequited love and she never gave up. I should try to give this girl a chance. She might be my happy ending after all.
