"Lancelot, may gusto ka ba kainin?" tanong ni Gwenevere habang inaalalayan ako mahiga sa kama ko.

"Ikaw sana, pwede ka ba kainin?" biro ko sa kanya.

"Hindi mo ko matitikman hanggang hindi mo ko pinapakasalan. Ano ka swerte? After ng one night stand natin, duguan na naman ang puso ko? Gusto ko sakin ka na forever pag nangyari yun."

"Nagtatanong ko eh, sinasagot lang kita. May ice cream ata sa fridge, can you get me one?"

Mabilis na bumaba si Gwenevere at pagbalik niya, may dala na siyang dalawang pint ng ice cream for the two of us.

"Lancelot, di ko nakakalimutan ang sinabi mo about kay Elle. You said she is extra ordinary. What made you say that?" tanong niya sabay upo sa tabi ko.

"How many werewolves Alphas do we have?"

"Twelve, tinatanong pa ba yan?"

"There is a phantom Thirteenth Werewolf Alpha. The Main Alpha."

"Lancelot, walang ganun. I studied under the tutelage of the twelve First Heirs, walang ganun," confident na sabi ni Gwenevere.

"That is what I thought so too, but my father and your father discovered something important."

"The Harrington is known to have an ability to absorb the past memories of a person. During their stay in the Philippines, my father met a fisherman. He accidentally absorbed his memories, the memories of his ancestors."

"What kind of memories, Lancelot?"

"During the battle of Sodom and Gomorrah, the twelve werewolves Alpha fought the undead soldiers of the demon goddess Lilith. And yet, there is a phantom Thirteenth Alpha who is just an observer. He has the powers of all of the twelve Alphas and he also has the power to kill a werewolf."

"Just like the Verdugo legend?"

"Exactly like that. His name is Joah, the Thirteenth. The only Alpha capable fighting tooth and nail with the demon generals. Kaso, the rest of his descendants were not able to inherit his powers kahit yung kanyang mga Direct Heirs. It is like the his powers became dormant."

"Until Elle, tama ba?"

"Gwenevere, this is a secret only known to Meshach, Hezekiah and our fathers. Wala silang sinasabihan na iba about Joah dahil baka magkaroon ng chaos sa Werewolf clan kapag nalaman nila ang existence ng Verdugo."

"Aware ba si kuya about this noon pa?"

"Knowing that he is the Royal Heir of Ezra Eriksson, tingin ko alam niya ang story tungkol dito. Your brother is an intelligent man. I am confident that he already discovered her true identity. He must have felt something different with her."

"Lancelot, asan na si Joah? How did you track Elle?"

"I don't know Lancelot, minsan nakakapagod din magmahal. Try ko din magmahal ng ibang lalake," nakangiti na sagot ni Gwenevere pero inirapan ko lang siya.

She loved me for more than two hundred years now. Maybe I am such a selfish brute, but I don't want her to love anyone but me.

"Gwenevere, I told you this secret because I trust you. Elle is the heir of Joah, pero wala siyang alam sa past niya. Akala ko noon nagkamali lang sila daddy but when I witnessed her powers, alam ko na siya ang sinasabing Verdugo sa legend. It's her duty to fight the demon generals."

"It makes sense. When I first met Elle, I am so attracted to her in a way na gusto ko siya kasama at magaan ang loob ko sa kanya. I also felt comfortable and safe when I am with her kaya hindi ako nag seselos sa kanya."

"How about sa mga naging girlfriends ko? Nagseselos ka ba?"

"Lancelot, hindi naman ako selosa di ba? Kailan ba ko nagselos sa mga babae mo?" inis na sabi ni Gwenevere sabay subo sa akin ng maraming ice cream.

Mahigit tatlong taon na namin siya kasama ni Elle at alam ko na nagseselos si Gwenevere whenever may kasama akong bagong babae. Though tinatago niya lang sa bawat ngiti niya, sigurado ako na affected niya. I am just so stupid to take her for granted after all this time.
