Zero's POV
                              Four hours later
Was it just me, or was Luanna softening up?
"Shushnub..." I mumbled to myself, pondering the word. The poop that poop creates... Shit babies?
                              Luanna was still giggling. "Shushnub."
I rolled my eyes at her, but she just flashed me a smile, and her blonde hair dances in front of her eyes. I reached out to her, and wiped it aside. "That's better," I told her.
Her eyes grew wary, and she jerked her head away. "Sorry," I hastened to say.
She frowned. "It's okay, twirp. Just don't think I'm your little kitten that you can pet."
I grinned at her, and scooted closer. "You're pretty," I told her.
                              Luanna threw me a look.
Slow down, cowboy...Luanna isn't quite liking this, a voice warned me.
I slowly raised my arm, keeping eye contact, and wrapped it around her shoulders. She continued watching me warily, but allowed that much.
                              "Is this okay?" I whispered.
She nodded, and gave me a slight smile. "Yes, shushnub."
Alex snorted, and I looked at him. He was smirking at Luanna. "Is he getting to you?" he sneered.
Luanna flushed angrily, and pushed me away. "NO! Ugh, the idea- no, Alex. Just no."
I felt hurt, and threw Alex a glare, and then folded my arms. "Now that we've got that out of the way, let's move on, shall we?" I snapped.
Luanna looked troubled. "Zero... I didn't really- I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
I stared at her. "Was that an apology?" I asked, baffled.
She opened her mouth, and then closed it again. "Ye-no. No. It was just...A reassurance."
I nodded, but cheered on the inside. "Okay, then."
Alex frowned unhappily, but got up. "Let's-"
A loud noise interrupted him, and we all whirled around.
Eveloped in a dark, lonely shadow, stood a figure. It seemed to grow, and shape into something frightening, something that took my breath away.
It was now the size of a giant, and pitch black, its eyes a bright, glowing red. It smiled, a smile that spoke of death, and mourning and all kinds of sorrow.
I took a step back, and grabbed Luanna's hand.
"Prepare to die," it hissed, winking at Luanna.
