Zero's POV

Of course Luanna was first...and I was last. I settled for taking a cold shower while I heard the others laughing at me.

"Luaaaaanna liiiiikeeees meeee," I sang, dancing around in the shower, "yeaaaah sheeee liiiiiikeeees meeeee!"

"SHUT UP!" Luanna roared. Everyone else was snorting loudly, and Mhyrr's laugh was the loudest of them all. I wondered whether she was doing it just to show off.

I got out of the shower again, goosebumps everywhere, and pulled on my clothes as quickly as I could.

As soon as I opened the door, I was met by Mhyrr's merry eyes. "Well, don't you have a beautiful voice?" she teased me.

I was stunned for a moment, by the sound of her and her vivid face. "S-so...er," I stammered. Mhyrr batted her lashes at me, and giggled, but was shoved aside roughly by Luanna, who threw the girl a warning glare.

Mhyrr rolled her eyes, but went to Alex' side, and I grinned at Luanna. She narrowed her eyes at me. "No flirting with other girls!" she hissed under her breath.

I blinked. "I wasn't flirting."

"Just saying," Luanna muttered angrily, stalking away.

I followed, and grabbed our schoolbags. "See you in the afternoon, mom, dad!" I called out.

There was no response, and we went off to school.

Piper's POV

I waited anxiously by Alex' locker. They would probably have some trouble with getting Mhyrr to school first- if they even bothered putting her in school.

I'd brushed my hair carefully this morning, put it into a ponytail, and put on make up. I usually didn't do it, but the image of Mhyrr's beautiful face was burned into my mind.

I paced around as he didn't show up, and bit my lip. The bell was going to ring soon, if they didn't hurry up...

Just then, he showed up, Mhyrr not with him, to my relief. I smiled at him. "Hey."

Alex gave me a nod, and paused. "How are you?"

I felt my smile widen unnaturally. "I'm fine. What about you?"

"Pretty good," he replied, glancing around.

An awkward silence ruled after that, and I bit my lip again. "We should get going, Alex."

He nodded again, and we walked to Calculus together. Somehow, my throat seemed swollen and heavy, and I felt something run over my cheek. As I raised a hand to brush it away, I realized it was a tear. I turned my face away quickly, ashamed of myself. "So how is Mhyrr?"

Alex' face lit up. "Doing great. She'll be waiting outside."

I swear I was going to kill that girl.
