Zero's POV
My mother looked pale and baffled as I came home.
"What's wrong?" I asked her, flinging my backpack aside.
She flushed, and looked down. "Well- that girl- and the boy too-"
I frowned. "What did they do?"
"Nothing," she reassured me, "it's just that...Well, did you ever notice they have- I mean-" she stammered, embarrassed.
"Mom, you can tell me," I said, worried now.
"Well- I asked Luanna for help- and she flew-"
I started. "Uhm- mom? Flew? What did you eat today? Or drink?"
My mother flushed an even deeper red, but this time anger was the cause. "Don't talk to me in such a way, young man!" she snapped.
I looked down.
"She flew," my mother murmered, sitting down and shaking her head.
I took a deep breath, picked up my backpack and went to what was left of my room.
I only looked up when I knew I was in front of it -I could find my way in this house blindfolded- and then gasped, stumbling back.
I tripped over something, fell to the ground and looked up in disbelief.
Luanna was in my room, her blonde hair hanging over his shoulders, and humming a tune.
Quite a normal thing, you'd say, for a teenage girl.
Except for the part that Luanna had two fluffy, huge wings sticking out of the shirt she was wearing.
She turned around, and the wings moved in fright. "Sheesh, Zero! A warning might've been nice!" she snapped.
I stared at her wings. "Y-y-you h-have w-w-ings!" I stuttered.
She rolled her eyes. "Duh."
I swallowed. "Uh-not-possible-uhm-er-uhhhhh-"
"Yeah, uh-er-possible," she mocked me, flipping her hair.
I scrambled up, and calmed down slightly. "They're fake," I said in a high voice.
Luanna frowned angrily, and peeked at her wings, folding them slightly. I swallowed.
"How dare you tell me they're fake!" she said in a furious voice. I took a step back as she started shaking with anger, and her eyes seemed to flame.
"Uh-Luanna-calm down!" I soothed her, looking around me frantically.
"Luanna! Come on!" I heard Alex complain. The fella shot to Luanna's side, and tugged at her left wing, "they don't understand!"
I shot them both a look. "Understand what?"
Of course, that's when I noticed Alex had wings too.
I swallowed. Like angels.
Shut up, Zero. There is a very, very logical explanation for this.
