Zero's POV

My legs were shaking by the time we finally got back. Luanna thanked Daisy again for her help, and the dragon made a satisfied snorting noise, before turning back to her small pet size.

"Where is our welcome committee?" Luanna asked. I shrugged and stepped inside as Piper's father opened the door. Instead of loud cheers that we were back, I saw Piper and Alex sitting in the kitchen together, laughing. I

I turned to Luanna, baffled. She looked just as perplexed as I was, but then a hint of anger appeared on her face. She marched inside and scraped her throat. Piper's father just shrugged and went to find his wife as Alex and his newly found... 'friend' chattered, ignoring Luanna.

I sat down quickly.

"Hello," Luanna said dryly.

Alex looked up, and fell off of his chair. "Luanna!" he squeaked.

"Glad to know you finally noticed us," his sister said dryly. Piper grinned. "Sorry about that. Your brother has the talent of holding interesting conversations!"

"I guess."

I looked nervously at the three of them. By now, Alex had gotten up. He gave Luanna an awkward hug. "I'm glad it went okay. I mean- it did, right?"

She nodded. "We'll have to come back in a week. And then..." she trailed off suggestively. I couldn't help but shudder. Luanna was capable of murdering her own father. That was...

Well, let's just say Luanna was quite unique.

Piper's POV

Luanna looked pissed. As in p-i-s-s-e-d. As in, l-i-v-i-d.

I didn't really know why. But it seemed to be directed at pretty much everyone. Even Zero.

The latter kept offering to help Luanna with things, until she snapped. "I'm not handicapped, Zero! I can take care of myself! Just go wallow in a corner!"

The boy flinched, but I gave Luanna a stern look. "He's trying to help you, stop being so snappy!" I told her.

She gave me a death glare and I was quick to shut my mouth.

"Alex, Zero...We ought to go home. Are you two coming?"

Alex looked reluctant, but Zero nodded and got up. "Bye," Alex muttered, giving me a half-hearted wave. I pulled a face. "Good luck."

"Yeah, you too..."

"Will I see you at school?"

"I don't know. Maybe..."

Luanna scoffed and rolled her eyes, waving goodbye to my parents. I couldn't help noticing she ignored me, and I chuckled. The girl nearly dragged her brother out, and Zero followed. I sighed as I was alone, and wondered what in the world could happen in one week to change fate.
