Akane looked at the mirror. She saw her eyes swollen and her hair disheveled. I'm a hopeless case. She thought to herself. She had been wondering around in the capital yet there was still no place she could stay. Mostly, due to her lack of money.
"Did you hear?" A bunch of girls entered the washroom in school uniform. Akane immediately went to hide in cubical. She shut herself inside. Wait! Why am I hiding? It has become so common for her to hide from whoever she sees. She sighed. When she was about to open the door, she heard, "Witch hunters are gathering students from schools! No way! Witch really exist?" The girls squealed in disbelief.
Akane became highly attentive. Witch hunters? Why are they gathering students?
The girls washed their hands and exited. Akane opened the door, "They must be getting assistance from students... I have to find those young girls before they are caught!" She murmured to herself.
The moon tonight was painted in red, and there were no stars. Akane suddenly felt extremely uneasy. I'd better get going... She thought as she quickened her footsteps. On her way, a hand covered her eyes and before she could resist, she felt something hit her head hard, causing her to black out.
The smell of fresh blood woke her up, her vision was completely blurred. Her head was throbbing in excruciating pain and her attempts to shook it off was futile. She could only hear voices but could not differentiate the words. She forced herself to wake up and when she finally did, she regained her vision and saw that she was restricted. She tried to break free from the cuffs and chain that were connected to her hands and legs. The sounds of the metal chains grabbed the attention of the kidnapper.
"You finally woke up?" A man's voice. Very familiar. Her heart rate increase as her whole body felt goosebumps when she hear his voice. She looked up and realized a figure approaching. He walked with an air of elegance and the left edge of his lips dripped with fresh blood. She shifted back in horror. "Who are you?" She asked, even though somewhere in her heart, she know who he is but she hoped with all her heart that she was wrong.
The man smirked, "How cold of you to forget me. A.k.a.n.e." His eyes. Red. His hair. Silver. His smile. Her worst nightmare.
