A hidden survival

Chapter 44

"Guren! She's my family, you have to save her." He exclaimed. Guren glance coldly at Akane. "A witch? Yuichiro Hyakuya, no way." He said coldly. Yuu clenched his fist. Akane watched as Yuu hesitated, he must be really important to you. She slowly stands up and backs away.

Everyone stared at her in confusion. She smiled at Yuu and said in a distant tone, "I'm a witch."

After a while, she continued, "I'm not your Akane anymore." She slowly backs away, "Amõré hisá esu kēpu." Stabbig her staff on the ground, she chanted. Together with the trapped witches, they disappeared.

"Akane!" Yuu shouted. Mika puts down his sword and watched as Akane vanishes before him. The last detail he saw, was a pair of eyes, seemingly heartbroken. He knew why she chose to do what she did.

Akane freed the last witch from the ropes and sighed in relief. Suddenly, someone laughed at her, "Oh Akane~ In the end, you still can't end up with dear Mika and Yuu. What a tragedy..."
The voice sends red alert to her brain. Shifting back, and searching around, she gave him a hateful glare. "Ferid Bathory." She named. He chuckled, "those eyes looks just like hers." For the first time, there was sincerity in his voice. Akane replied, "no. Teacher could never hate you. But I do." The vampire looked up in surprise, then back to his usual smile, "I wonder... How long will those strong eyes last." He shifts his glance from her to the rest of the witches.

Akane felt a cold shiver in her legs, "Don't touch them!" Akane demanded, her voice slightly shaky. The vampire smirked, "don't worry. I won't kill them, but you're not as lucky." By the time he finished his sentence, he was right in front of Akane, biting into her neck. She flinched, and clenched her teeth together. "My turn to take you away." He said.

Akane woke up to find herself locked up. Her hands and legs were cuffed with a chain connecting tightly to the wall. She pulled herself up but fell back due to the lack of strength. She slammed the floor in anger. Why am I always stuck in this kind of situation? She analyzed around but there was no way to get out. Keeping her knees closed to her body, she crouched into a defenseless position as images of Mika and Yuu flashes across her mind.

On the other end
Mika walked towards Yuu who stood in silence despite knowing someone was approaching him. He stood by his side and gazed into space along with him. They silently waited, none of them said a word, but both of them knew what the other was thinking - bringing Akane back.
