"Experiment?" Akane looked at her childhood friend in disbelief. Mika opened his mouth to say something, but close it again. The distance between them slowly increases with the silence surrounding them.

"Akane." Yuri broke it, she stares at her guardian with a pair of innocent eyes that makes Akane snaps back from her thought. "No matter what their purpose is, it's the first place I found warm. I'll always stand on the side of humans even if they hate me." Mika kept quiet. Akane held onto Yuri's hand and stood up. "Yuu is siding with humans. The both of you are all I have left to trust and rely on. I won't betray either of you." She limped away.

"You're hurt." His concern voice gain the urge for the tears to flow. She resisted and said, "Don't worry, it'll heal." He held onto her hand, "Don't force it." He kneeled forward for her to come up. She could only smile and relied on him, he piggyback her without saying anything. Holding onto Mika's attire, the girl followed.

"Akane!" Yuu approached. He stopped when his saw the blonde. "Mika." He said. Time seems to stop for a long time before he reacts again. "What happen to Akane?" He puts her down and she smiled, "A little injury." Yu glanced at his best friend and closed the distance, "Mika!" He hit his shoulder. Mika frowned, "Stop that." Yuu ignored and grinned, "I'm glad you're alive. Didn't get to say that the last time." Mika did not say anything.

"I feel... I feel as though the both of you switch personalities," Akane said. Yuu and Mika starred at each other, then at Akane. "What about you? Still the same granny who loves to nag?" Yuu countered. Akane face burned in anger and embarrassment, "You..." She paused and grinned mischievously. With just a few words coming from her, Yuu turned into an old lady. Bursting laughter comes from Yuri, followed by Akane, Mika held his in. "Akane! Change me back!" He chased her around angrily.

Akane smirked in triumph. "Why is there even such a spell?" He muttered in silence. With surprisingly sharp ears, she replied, "It's for disguise. Old people are more likely to go unsuspected." Mika finally talked, "Go where?" Akane stayed silent for a while, memories of her hardships blurred her vision.

After a long silence, she finally looked at her childhood friends' eyes, one emerald, one ocean. She smiled bitterly, "To the outside world."
