Chapter 49

"Where's the student who always say that she'll definitely get her wish?"

Akane tilted her head down and mumbled, "it's the only way, for Yuri and those two to survive. Once I leave this place, Yuri will be sacrificed." Hana sighed but then, she smiled and assured, "He won't hurt them." Akane looked at her mentor with a face of disbelief. Hana turned around and said, "he's the most gentle vampire I know." Her tone was always so gentle when she speaks of him. This was the reason why Akane wasn't as scared of the vampire as she was. Akane shook her head, "you saw him done those things to my family, to me... It's possible for him to hurt everyone."

Hana sighed and made eye contact with her, "he has his reasons behind this. I'm sure he wants to try that again." Akane looked confused. "Try... What?" It took a few moments before she replied, "a ressurection." The words send shivers to Akane. She was about to touch her mentor but her mentor shifts away. "Once you touch me, you'll really lose the life I've tried so hard to keep. So, I won't allow you to come to my side. Not today." She warned strictly.

Akane's shoulders sank down. "What can I do?" Hana smiles gently at her, "it's what you have to do. Akane, I know you have potential that's why I trained you, have expectations of you. Right now, you are just losing confidence and courage. But your ability and potential are still there, aren't they?" Akane gazed at her mentor who smiled brightly at her.

Akane...

Hana grinned, "looks like you've found those two, are you going to leave them again?" Akane glanced at the other end where those voices came. "You won't let me go with you, what other choice do I have?" She said as she stood up and walked towards the voices. Before she continued on further, she stopped and said, "thanks for everything..."

Those words made Hana's lips curved upwards as she replied, "no, thank you for being my student."

With that, Akane walked away from her.

During that night, her fingers moved and her eyes fluttered open slowly. She looked at the dark room with a blurred vision at first. As she gained her clear vision back, she tried to sit up. Her stomach flashed an excruciating pain, so much that she laid back down with her eyes growing watery. Yet she smiled. I'm alive...

The pain serve as a reminder to her that she's alive. How am I still alive? She thought as she looked at the ceiling.
