Chapter 16

Seiki let go of his sister and wiped her tears away, "Don't worry. I won't let anyone hurt you too." He assured. The girl stayed silent. Akane and Hana left the siblings alone and went down the stairs.

Akane command, "Hana. Clear your mind and focus on you senses." Hana did as she was told. Akane threw a packet of flour on the floor. "Repeat after me. Clarum vision." Hana chanted after her and the flour cleared. Hana grinned, "Is this my power?" Akane smiled, "This is the basic spell, in case you come across blurry road." Hana nodded. Akane announced, "One more spell. It's use for escape an enclose place. Follow my lead." Akane said as she held onto her staff. "Et evadere." She chanted and she disappeared. Following her was Hana. When she looked around, they were outside the restaurant. Hana exclaimed, "Amazing!" Akane patted her head, "You did great." Hana questioned, "What's that staff do?" Akane held her hand and moved towards the restaurant, "This is your companion when you reach the age of 12. It's to make your power stronger."

"Training with Hana?" Ryou asked as he saw the girls entering from the door. Akane nodded. Ryou walked towards the girls, "Seiki has all the basics, you're right when you said he has potential." Akane sighed, "Don't be too harsh on him." Ryou shook his head, "I'm not the one that's harsh on him. It's himself."

The footsteps down the stairs disturbed the bunch. "Sakura!" Hana called out.

The bunch watched as the little girl walked towards the door, reaching for the door handle. However, she before she could open it, she fell onto the floor in a kneeling position. Akane rushed towards her and saw drips of water falling onto the girl's hand. She pulled the little girl up and kneeled down so she could face her. She wiped away her tears gently, "It's painful, isn't it? I'm sorry I couldn't save them in time." The little girl stood still, no response other than tears flowing down her emotionless face.

Ryou whispered to Hana, "We should leave them alone." Hana nodded and went to take care of the toddler while Ryou went back the basement to continue the training with Seiki.

Akane started, "There was a girl I know who live in the orphanage. The children who lived there were not just friends with each other, they were family to each other. However, even after all the years of staying together, she easily lost all of them in just one night." Sakura finally looked into Akane's eyes for the first time.
