A hidden survival

Chapter 18

Hana questioned, "Just because she woke up?" Akane explained, "Any extreme emotions she feels will cause her surroundings to be destroyed completely." Hana asked, "Did I do something wrong?" Akane patted the girl's head, "Not you. She probably wants to see her Mother." Hana clenched her fist, "Then... Is it possible to stop this from happening again?" Akane shook her head, "I'm not sure. When she wakes up again, I'll try to hold it down, but if it fails, we have to leave or this house will be in danger, you understand right?" Hana nodded in slience. Akane smiled, "Don't worry! Go and rest, I'll take the next watch."

Akane stood beside the little girl's bed, "Your Mother entrusted you to me. I promise I won't leave you in despair." She stayed and watched the girl for the whole night. The girl slowly woke up and sniffed, "Mummy..." Akane saw the table began to shake. She immediately pull the girl into a hug, "It's okay... You're not alone." The room was calming down. The girl pushed Akane away, "Where is mummy?" The walls starts cracking. Akane stood up, "I will tell you about your mummy if you stop crying." The toddler looked at her, "No!" Akane realized the ceiling was cracking, anymore of this will cause the whole room to crumble.

Akane pulled her into a hug, "I'm sorry for doing this to you, I really am..." Akane chanted as she felt the weight of the girl on her. These young witches have already begin to show their powers so soon. Is it because they were traumatised?

She clenched her fist at the thought. Witch hunters... What have you done to these young girls...

Akane came down stairs while carrying the toddler, "It's time to leave." Ryou and the children were taken by surprised, "Where are we going?" Akane looked at the innocent stares of the children. "It's too dangerous for this girl to stay here."

The door banged opened and three men entered, the 'leader' came forward and point his finger at Akane, "I've been watching and waiting for this moment. Give me the witch and her girls or you'll have to lose a few lives today." Akane moved back and held onto the toddler tighter. Hana and Sakura rushed to Akane's side while Ryou and Seiki moved upfront and stood in a defensive pose. The man smirked, "I take that as a no?" Ryou ignored and shouted, "Akane, get away from here, I'll deal with them!" Akane looked at him, conflicted. She glanced at the children who were shaking in fear and made a decision, "Be careful, Ryou!" as she pulled all of them to the back door and escaped.

Sakura called out, "Brother!" Seiki turned, "Go! I promise I'll track you down!" With just that, they were separated cruelly from each other.
