A hidden survival

Chapter 14

"Hana!" Akane shouted again as anxious tears welled up her eyes. A camouflaged door opened, Hana came out crying, "Akane!" She threw herself at Akane and was reciprocated, "Thank god you're safe..." She cried, "Ryou... He..." Akane pulled back, "What happened to him?" Without saying another word, she was pulled into the room. Ryou was on bed, his stomach bleeding severely. Akane released everyone she was holding and rushed to the bed. "Ryou!" There was no reaction but his chest was still moving up and down. She covers his stomach and chanted, "Vulnus sanitetum" The wound slowly closed up. A stab? She sighed in relief when she saw Ryou's expression was no longer in pain.

Hana walked up to her explained as tears streamed, "When Ryou saw the television, he told me to hide in this room and then, there were a lot of noise downstairs and when there was silence, he entered the room with bleeding stomach. I'm sorry..." Akane patted her head, "It's okay. He's going to be fine. Ryou is strong." Akane wiped away Hana's tears, "Can you help me take care of Ryou?" Hana nodded and Akane went to placed the toddler and the girl on the other beds.

The boy looked at his sister, face filled with worry. Akane walked towards him and encouraged, "Don't worry. She'll be fine." The boy nodded. Akane glanced at the girl, "She is traumatised, she'll either lose control of her emotions or be really quiet when she wakes up. Stay by her side, okay?" The boy nodded, "I'll take care of her." He assured. Akane patted his head, "I'm Akane, what's your name?" The boy answered, "Seiki." She smile, "Alright Seiki, you're really brave back there, but from now on, I'll promised the safety of your sister and you, okay?" He nodded. Akane smiled gently at him and moved over to the toddler. The little girl on bed furrowed her eye brow and cried, "Mummy..." Akane held her hand, "You'll be fine little one. I will protect you no matter what."

Akane went down the stairs with Hana to get some water, "Akane... You're hiding dark emotions inside. I can't tell what it is, but I could feel that you're hurting." Akane mustered a smile, "I'm fine. Don't worry." Another person came down, "Akane, I think the man is waking up." They looked at the direction of the voice, "Seiki?" Hana voiced out. Akane glanced at the both of them in confusion. The boy mouthed, "Hana."
