A hidden survival

Chapter 47

"Exó cast strike!" She chanted as she moved with high speed towards Shinoa. Yuu and Mika turned and block the attack just in time before it hits Shinoa. "Akane! What are you doing?" Yuu raised his voice when he saw his childhood friend. Akane ignored his comment and waved her wooden staff again. This time, Shinoa gets ready for it and counter her with her own demon weapon. Akane frowned at Shinoa and jumps back up, landing in a distant. Yuu came forward and blocked her, "enough! Why are you doing this?"

Akane looked up at her childhood friend, "I'm sorry..." She moved pass Yuu and bolted towards Shinoa, "eta lan ember blast." Shinoa dodged it and taunted, "Is this all you have?" Akane bit her lips and chanted, "vines grant life." The vines from the ground starts to wrap Shinoa on the spot. She was trapped from escaping. Mika and Yuu came forward, trying to stop her, but the vines trapped them too!

They tried cutting through the vines but they were only growing thicker. Akane's power has increased due to Yuri's 'detruct' ability. Right now, Akane has overbearing emotion, hence, this ability became even stronger.

Akane steps closer, her staff turned into a sharp dagger. She points it at Shinoa's heart, ready to stab.

"Akane, don't do it." Yuu shouted. Akane glanced at her two childhood friend before turning back at her target. She was about to stab her when she recalled:

Remember the rules Akane, don't use your powers unless you're in danger.

"I have broken the rules teacher... I'm so sorry..."

But if you can't kill Shinoa, you can use your life in return of hers.

"Shinoa... Please don't hate witches anymore." She said. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she put the dagger down. She turned to her two childhood friends and mouthed, "I'm sorry" before stabbing herself in the chest and falling to the ground. For a moment, everyone froze. Until the vines starts to lose it's grip and releases them.

"Akane!" The boys called to the body that knelt to the ground. Blood oozes out of her body as she loses her life colour.

They rushed to her side and held her tight. She smiled and with one last teardrop, she closed her eyes and prepared herself for her end.

I really wanted us to be together...

The sun is beginning to set, losing it's brightness.

What a plot twist! I think it's a plot twist... :o How many of you thought she was going to kill Shinoa? Check out how she manages to save Yuri even though she didn't kill Shinoa in the next chapter!
