Akane settled on the bench at the deserted park in a daze. She finally got a place to stay, it was because of her teacher had prepared earlier, knowing she would go to the capital without a place to stay in, hence, she asked for help from her friend. He's a witch guardian and had managed to find her after knowing what happen to the witch village through his detector sense and gave her a a place to stay. He asked, "I've heard from Hana, so did you find your friends?" which sets her thinking about what she was doing these past few weeks.
4 years ago, she never would've thought she'd run away from her two most reliant family members. Now, she was the worst! She had hurt the both of them.
"You're upset." A little girl's voice entered her ears. Akane looked at the little girl in shock. She had a long, black hair that falls smoothly below her shoulders. Her dark blue eyes glowed with bright red. Akane grabbed her hand and her eyes suddenly stopped glowing. She seemed to snapped back to reality and looked at Akane in shock. Akane smiled at her, "Hey young one. Are you alright?" The little girl immediately bowed down, "I'm sorry! Did I say something weird to you?" Her voice filled with anxiety. Akane smiled warmly, "No... What you said just now was exactly what I was feeling. Are you a little fortune teller? Your fortune is so accurate!" The girl's lips curved upwards into a bright smile, encouraged by her words, "You're the first to say that. Everyone else says I'm weird and creepy."
Akane looked around, "You're alone? Where are your parents?" She started to stutter, "I... was thrown out by my Uncle yesterday night. My parents... I don't know who they are." After she finished her sentence, she started to tear up. Akane instinctively pulled her into a gentle hug. "It's going to be alright..."
She carried the little girl and place her gently on the chair. "What's your name?" The little girl looked up at her and answered, "Hana." Akane felt her heart squeezed in pain at that name. It is the exact same name as her mentor. She smiled, "Alright Hana, my name is Akane." The girl looked at her and nodded slightly. Just then, her stomach growled. Akane chuckled. "Let us find something to fill that tummy of yours, shall we?" She held out her hand, and Hana took it without any hesitation. "Yes!" She said, her voice filled with cheerfulness and energy.
Author's note: Akane found her first young student. Now that she is travelling with little Hana, will she be more courageous to face her fears?
