Pain caused her to flinch, trauma caused her to resist and fear caused her to tear up. Her family is sucking her blood, acting like the beast that killed her family. She whispered, "Mika." Her voice was soft and vulnerable, causing Mika to snap back to his senses.

He saw the tears flowing down her eyes. It was his doing. He hated this part of him. Before he could do more, he distanced himself from her. He was ready to make a high jump, "Wait-" Akane tries to stop him, but conscious slips away from her and right when she hit the ground, Mika caught her.

There was something about her blood that is different from the princess. It satisfies his thirst much more. To the extent he could just suck every bit to sustain himself. He looked at his reflection, his eyes were still blue. What is her blood exactly...

"Akane!" Footsteps closing in, her eyes slowly opened, she shifts her gaze from the sky to the girl who is calling her. "Yuri..." She sits up, her whole body feels restless, when she tried to cast a spell, it failed, as if her energy was sucked out. Her head throbbed in pain, and her breathing pattern became irregular. Gasping for air, she clecnched her fist tight, the knuckles turned white. "Akane... Are you alright?" The toddler looked at her in anxiety.

She turned her gaze towards the toddler, smiling weakly, she could not speak. She took deep breaths, trying to catch her breathing again. It worked after a few tries. Her head was still throbbing, she shifts her gaze to someone who is at distance. "Mika." She managed to call. He did not react. She pushed herself up, only to fall again. Her legs does not seemed to be working.

"Mika, can you come over here? I can't move." He did as he was told. Yuri glanced at the both of them in confusion. Akane held onto his hand, scared that he would run away. "I won't leave until you're better." He said. Akane knew, yet she need to say something. "I'm sorry, you're still my family Mika, despite what you have become. Am I still yours despite what I have become?" Finally, he made eye contact with her, "Do you know what I just did to you?" Akane answered, "You took responsibility by making sure no one harms me afterwards. That's what you did." He frowned, "If I say I hate humans, are we still on the same side?" Akane could feel herself in shock, hate humans? "Why would you?"

"The orphanage we were in was an experiment lab," Truth is a knife.

"and we, are their experiment." Sharp and painful.
