Once again Thor decided to go off and do something stupid. This time Thor was going to go off to Joutenheim. He looked down trying to figure out if he should go. Probably not because Thor thought he should start a war. His thoughts where interrupted when he felt like someone else was in the room.
"Hello?" He whispered.
"I saw you." A feminine voice spoke.
"What?" He did not understand.
"I saw you in the shadows, when no one else did."
"I don't understand."
"That is because we share a similar story, you and me. I too am in the shadows of another."
Loki looked to see you literally walking out of the shadows. "Who are you?"
".... I... Well I guess I expected that. I wish I didn't... I'm y/n, Sif's little adopted sister and cousin." You frowned.
"How can you be both?"
"My aunt and uncle are my godparents, and well... My parents died... So they had to take me in if they wanted to get what my parents left them."
"Oh... I'm sorry." He frowned.
"It's okay. I'm not trying to be pitiful. I'm just trying to talk. May we walk and talk?" You questioned.
"Yes."
You lead him out and began to walk with Loki.
"It sucks. When my parents were alive, we didn't ever really my aunt, Uncle, or Sif. My parents died when I was seven, and I was sent to them. Before then me and Sif were both only children. That's how it stayed. They don't really care about me. Sif doesn't either. Anyway... I have always been with your group, but no one noticed me."
"I'm... I'm terribly sorry y/n. As someone who knows how it feels to be left out... I should've been there for you, and you had it worse than me. At least that's what I feel like."
He looked down to his feet wishing he'd been more attentive to see you. He just wondered why it was today you decided to talk to him instead of years ago.
"Loki, I'm only retelling the past. I'm here because I want to change that for the both of us." You took the opportunity to hug him, and you were surprised when he hugged you back.
"We can be in the light of each other." You whispered as a tear slipped down your cheeks.
Loki pulled away and looked at you. He sightly smiled as he reached up to wipe away your tears. You leaned into his touch finally feeling almost free, or rather you finally had someone who saw you. You weren't actually invisible, but you just felt that way. Now you were finally visible, and Loki felt the same.
Loki pulled his hand away, but then he linked his arm in yours. An even brighter smile formed on his lips. His walk was already a little lighter. Going to Joutenheim with his brother was forgotten because he'd much rather spend his time with you. Also you both probably wouldn't manage to get in any trouble with his father.
"Loki can we perhaps go somewhere like maybe the feild of flowers? We could go to the lake or ocean. We don't have to go anywhere really. I'm just glad to be here, actually be with you for the first time." You also smiled happily.
"I'm glad to be with you as well darling."
You couldn't help but blush when he called you darling. He'd never said it to anyone before until now, but he was glad to bestow that name of endearment to you.
"We could go to the fields of flowers if you desire."
"I'd like to go, but would you like to go?"
Loki paused for a moment then looked to you, "I am starting to think I'd like to go anywhere as long as I'm with you."
Once again you began to blush. He had been your crush for the longest time while Sif favored Thor, and she made fun of you for the fact you liked Loki so much. You didn't care then, and you especially did not care now.
"You are quite cute when you blush." Loki smiled.
"Thanks." You said as your blush got even redder.
"I really regret never noticing you. It makes me realize how selfish I was. Will you forgive me?" He looked to you.
"All is forgiven." With the arm that was linked in his, you slid it down so you could hold his hand. Then you quickly kissed his cheek.
Now Loki's cheeks were red.
"What are you standing around for? I thought we were going to the feild of flowers." You squeezed his hand giggling at his look of surprise.
"Oh. Yes. Of course." He began to walk with you once again.
"It's so beautiful out here. It smells lovely as well." You breathed in the fresh air at the feild.
"Indeed it is, and it does smell very nice." He sat down smiling while patting the grass beside him.
You also sat down and leaned your head on his shoulder, and once again you blushed when he wrapped his arm around your waist.
For once Loki and you felt warm. For once Loki and you were distanced from the cold shadows. It was a good thing for you both.
"We should come back here to read together. That is if you like to read." Loki whispered.
"I do like to read." You mumbled as you closed your eyes trying to remember these moments. You felt him put you closer, and you smiled.
"Y/n... This... This has been the greatest day of my life thus far, and it's all because of you. I might be exaggerating a bit, but I've had a wonderful day with you. I look forward to getting to know you better each and every day."
"I look forward to getting to know you better as well. Maybe tomorrow we can come back here and read like you said."
He nodded his head and stood up offering his hand to you. You took it, and he walked you back to your home you recently moved in to, to live on your own.
"I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Of course you will Loki."
He smiled pulling you in for a hug that you returned. Then he grabbed your hands placing kisses on the tops.
"Goodnight darling. Sleep well, and I will see you tomorrow."
You blushed nodding causing him to chuckle. You watched him leave until you couldn't see him anymore, and then you walked in lying down on the couch. Today was also your greatest day ever.
The best part was seeing him at the door in the morning because it proved you hadn't had some crazy dream.
Loki felt the very same.
