Blind Date

Alternate Universe Loki

Y/n was very nervous and excited. She had a date tonight. It was a blind date set up by one of her friends, Helena. She normally didn't go on blind dates, but she hadn't been on a date in a long time. She just hoped everything would go well.

Helena didn't give y/n much information about him. She said she'd known him since he was little, but he hadn't remembered her until they met again at his highschool graduation. She considered him a brother, and when y/n asked what his name was Helena just laughed saying it was "Loki."

Y/n knew the restaurant was fancy so she dressed accordingly compared to her usual t-shirts and jeans. She even put on some makeup, which she didn't do often.

Y/n made it just a few minutes early. She told her reservation, and she was lead to a table with a view of the city.

Y/n went ahead and ordered a glass of water. She was waiting in anticipation, and she began to wonder what he looked like. She wondered what his personality was like and his interests. Y/n was so nervous that she already finished her water. The waiter got her some more, and she said thank you. He asked if she wanted to order anything, and she said that she wanted to wait for her date.

The waiter nodded and left. Y/n pulled her phone out to check the time. Her eyes widened when she noticed it was ten minutes past when they were supposed to meet. She began to worry. She didn't want to be stood up. She also didn't want to doubt him either, and she felt terrible for not getting his phone number before she left.

Another ten minute had passed, and y/n was considering getting an appetizer. She was shocked when the waiter brought out some bread and butter. Once again she thanked him and ate a slice of bread. She looked down at her water in dismay.

"Y/n? Y/n l/n?"

She looked up to see a man that was not her waiter. Then she smiled.

"Yes I'm she."

"I just want to say I'm so sorry. Rehearsals ran over the normal time."

Y/n smiled shaking her head, "There was no need to apologize, but I appreciate it. I'm just glad you came."

He smiled and sat down picking up the menu.

"So, I heard your name was Loki." Y/n conversed.

He smiled and looked to her. "It was a nickname I earned in highschool. My real name is William."

The waiter returned and took the couple's order. Will took a slice of bread, and y/n had to take a moment to appreciate his accent.

"So, how did you get Loki as a nickname?"

"Well, my mother very much loves Shakespeare. That's why she named me William. She loves theatre, plays, movies, you name it. It seems she passed her passions to me. I've always loved to act, but I didn't audition got anything until I got in high school. The first role I got was Loki. It was a drama. Our school went to competition, and I won best actor award. Since, it was my first time in a play, and I won everyone just started calling me Loki. I eventually got used to it. Besides it always inspired me to keep following my dreams."

Y/n shook her head, "That's wonderful William."

The waiter came back bringing in their meals. Everything looked so lovely. They both thanked the waiter and began to eat.

Y/n was having a pleasant time. She learned that he was adopted, and his mother moved them both to America when he was little. She learned that that his adopted father sent his other son to Australia. She learned that he graduated top of his class, and he wanted to be an actor or director.

She told him a lot about herself as well. She normally didn't tell the men she went out with so much on the first date. The men normally didn't tell much about themselves on the first date either. There was just something there that made her want to talk with him for hours about anything and everything.

The classical music was so nice. Y/n found herself closing her eyes momentarily.

"Would you care to dance Darling?"

She opened her eyes to see William outstretching his hand. She felt her cheeks heat up, and she already placed her hand in his. He lead her to the dancefloor, and she was shocked when he bowed raising her hand placing a kiss on the top. She giggled and curtsied.

William began to lead them both through a waltz, and y/n felt like she was dreaming. He was such a gentleman. He was intelligent, passionate, and caring.

The song ended and several waiters and customers applauded the couple. They went back to their table and the waiter came back with two slices of cake.

"This is special on the house." The green eyed waiter smiled.

Y/n ate a piece of cake and sighed. "This cake is so delicious. Thank you for bringing it out here."

The man nodded and left William and y/n alone. Eventually they were some of the last ones at the restaurant. The waiter returned bringing the bill, and Loki was already getting his wallet, and y/n tried to get hers.

"Please let me pay for the meal. I insist. I still feel slightly bad for being late. I'm normally always on time."

"I... Alright. I suppose, but can I at least be the one who pays the tip?"

He smiled and nodded a mutual agreement. Y/n gave the money to the waiter, and William also gave the money for the bill.

William lead her outside to her car. When they made it, William laughed putting his hands in his pocket.

"Well I was hoping to be a little more romantic and offer to walk you back home, but now that I think if it, I also got here in a car... So... That wouldn't have worked out."

"I guess not." Y/n also laughed placing her hand on the side of his arm. "Regardless, I've enjoyed our date tonight. I would really like to go on another."

He looked back up and grinned. "I'd really like that."

They exchanged numbers then looked to each other. William gently grabbed her hand and once more placed a kiss on the top.

"Safe travels dear."

Y/n blushed again, "You too. I... I'll text you when I get home."

"As will I you."

She watched as he drove away. Then she got into her own car. She had to take a few deep breaths to calm herself. She looked forward to getting to know William.
