Seated on a park bench under the shade, you read your favorite book and sometimes would watch people come and go. The  area of the park you were in had people scattered all about it, but not many were very intriguing to you.

Once again you placed the bookmark in your book and looked at passerbys while you breathed in the fresh air. No one had caught your attention until you noticed one man that stood out from everyone else. You had to look at him once more just to make sure that what you saw wasn't some illusion or trick of the eye.

He looked as if he himself came from one of your books or movies. His outfit seemed like it was from the Victorian era. The green of his vest was vibrant in contrast to the black of his suit. His curly ebony hair was long somewhat similar to a hipster, but you could tell he was no where near being a hipster.

He walked like he had a purpose, but he also was walking closer to you. Again, you blinked your eyes to see if you were just making things up, but he was in fact coming closer and closer to you.

Surprisingly, you didn't feel scared or alarmed, but you felt calm as you had before you noticed him. The only thing that concerned you was he began to smile as he approached. It wasn't a creepy smile, but it was rather the smile of friends being reunited. You didn't realize how accurate you were.

The man approached you and hugged you. "Y/n, at last. I've found you again my darling."

He pulled away when you didn't return the hug, and his face dropped when he saw your own confused face.

"I'm... I'm sorry... Who are you?" You looked up to him.

"You... You don't remember? He did this. It was all him. He took you away from me." The man looked away as he spoke trying to remain calm.

"Who?"

"My father. He... I assume he erased the memories that belonged to your mind before sending you here with fake memories." The man looked to the ground as he shook his head.

Then he looked back up to you, "Well I suppose since you know nothing of your past, I can start of by saying that my name is Loki."

"Loki? Is that like... An alias?"

"N.. no, it's my real name." Loki shuffled on his feet as he looked to you.

"Oh... I.. I'm sorry. It's just you're dressed like you came from a convention. You're dressed in Victorian clothing... I just assumed you were portraying a character."

"It's okay. I promise you."

"Even the way you speak seems like you belong in the past. I actually think it's pretty charming." You smiled, and he looked up to you.

"Thank you. May I ask you a question?" He then walked beside you and sat down with you.

"Sure."

"Can I look into your mind?"  He said as a matter of fact.

"I... That sounds a little absurd."

Before you could think, Loki placed his hand on your forehead. You couldn't see the park anymore. Your vision became blurry until it focused again, but it was like you were watching a movie. You saw a younger version of yourself walking in a place of gold. Then you saw Loki, but he was dressed even stranger than before. You ran up to him and hugged him. Then when you pulled away, you were shocked to see yourself kiss him. Many scenes were with you and Loki.

Then another scene showed you a bit older in a beautiful dress. It seemed like you were... Getting married to Loki, but you both looked so happy and in love.

Then another scene showed you and an old man in a round room, and the old man was yelling at you. The last thing you saw before everything went dark was Loki running into the room stretching his arms out to you.

Your eyes grew blurry, and then your were back in the real world. That's when you felt tears stream down your face.

"Oh darling, I'm so sorry." Loki frowned. He lifted up his hand and brushed his thumb over your cheeks to get rid of the tears.

You didn't understand any of it, but you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and leaned your head on his shoulder as well. You couldn't help but cry. You had a life that was replaced with a lie. You didn't know what was true and what was false. Even though in the dream you couldn't hear him, you knew the old man erased you're memories and sent you away.

You had a husband who sat in front of you. Everything was so confusing.

"I'm so sorry darling. I've been visiting Earth ever since trying to find you. I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to you sooner, but my father made it difficult for me to find you." He continued to gently rub your cheek with his thumb.

"How long has it been?"

"Almost a year." He whispered.

"That isn't too horrible. I just... I hate that the life I have here was a falsehood. I mean it makes sense that my parents never could pick up their phones. It also explains why I couldn't remember much of my childhood, but the childhood I had was so pleasant. At least Odin gave me that."

Then Loki's eyes went wide. "What did you say?"

"I... I said Odin."

"And you didn't remember his name earlier." Loki added.

"No... I didn't. Do you think I'm getting my memories back?" You smiled.

"I think so." Loki joyfully nodded.

"Well... How about we talk this over at the nearby cafe, my... Uh... Husband?" You smiled.

"I know we are still technically married, but until you can get your memories back, I wouldn't mind dating you once more. I wouldn't even mind just starting off as friends. I know it must be extremely odd to discover that you already are married, but you have no recollection of it." He smiled squeezing your hands.

"Thank you for understanding." You smiled.

"It's no problem my dear. For you I'd wait a lifetime or more." His eyes sparkled as he revealed just how much he cared for you.

You both stood up, and he offered you his arm, which you hooked in your own. Just as he began to walk you stopped him. "Loki..."

"Yes, my dear?"

"Do you think you could change your clothes? I mean I think they're lovely and all, but I think people will think it very odd that you're dressed like that... Then again they're always on their phones anyway, so I guess it wouldn't matter."

Loki just laughed while he nodded his head, "You are adorable as always." Then his clothes changed in a mere second to something more modern. "Is this alright?"

"I love it just as much as I love the other outfit." You giggled.

"Well thank you darling, and now I believe I am ready for Earth. Are you ready to show me to this cafe you seem so fond of?"

"Of course snowflake." You began to lead him in the direction of the cafe.

Loki's smile brightened when he heard you call him by the nickname you gave him so long ago. Whether you got your memories fully back or not, he was just glad to have you in his arms again.
