The Avenger family all got dressed up in their sweaters and jackets to get warm for the night excursion.

You were one of the first ones ready at the Barton's front door. You loved running through snow and looking at all the lights and Christmas decorations. You decided to go outside and sit on one of the rocking chairs while you waited for everyone else.

"You're excited."

"Of course I'm excited Uncle Bruce. Do you remember all the times you would try to explain the science of snow?"

"And you were so entranced by the snow that you completely ignored me. Your eyes always lit up and were the size of saucers." Bruce laughed.

"Yeah... I just wish Mom and Dad were still here." You frowned.

"I know y/n. I miss them too, but we still have each other." He smiled squeezing your hand.

You were about to say something when Clint pulled up in his tractor, and a trailer filled with hay was behind him. He smiled and yelled for you to get everyone.

Once everyone was out, they all began to load up in the trailer. You were one of the last to get on, and you just had to be wedged between your Uncle and your crush. You didn't even realize until an emerald green blanket was draped over you, and you looked up to see your uncle staring at whoever sat beside you. It was Loki, and he didn't even look to Bruce. He was looking at you, and you couldn't help but blush.

"I know neither of us necessarily get cold, but I don't believe we want to get sick either." He chuckled, and you felt your blush deepen.

"Thanks." You looked to your Uncle who was still glaring at Loki. "Uncle Bruce, we're moving. We're off to see all the lights!"

Bruce finally looked to you and smiled. "I hope there will be some geeky lights."

"I heard a whole neighborhood is geek themed and blasting some of my favorite music." You squealed.

Eventually Bruce began to talk with Pepper, and you sat in silence while you waited to see all the lights. You wanted to talk to Loki, but for some reason your nerves got the best of you.

Finally you made it to the first few lights. Stars that hung from tree to tree sparked in a beautiful hue of gold. Clint stopped the tractor when snow began to fall. The children were the first to get out, and you trailed after them. You started a snowball fight with them, and soon everyone joined in.

"You all think you can beat me? No, for I am a frost giant, and I have always won snowball"

Before Loki could finish, everyone directed their snowballs at Loki. You were about to throw one when someone grabbed your hand. They pulled you away from everyone, and you finally saw who it was.

"Loki." You gasped then giggled. "Wow you're illusions have gotten even better."

"Well the snow will eventually go through the other me, but I've had time to learn more." He shrugged while smirking.

Then he turned you around, "If you look closely you can see another you as well."

You couldn't believe there was another you still throwing snowballs at everyone.

"Are you impressed?"

You turned around and smiled. "Loki I'm always impressed by you, no matter what."

You thought you saw him blush, but he quickly turned away. You caught up to him and stepped in front of him.  "Sooo.... Why did you take us away from the snowball fight? Is this one of the few occasions that I get to see your Jotun form?"

He stopped and looked down. His cheeks were still red. "No. Not today. I wanted to spend time here with you alone before everyone finds us. Y/n, I... I'm not the best at this, but I have to be honest with you."

He walked closer to you and looked into your eyes. "I... I think I'm in love with you."

Your eyes went wide. Your closet friend had feelings for you, and for the longest time you thought your feelings were one-sided. For years you tried to keep your feelings at bay mainly because you didn't want to ruin the friendship you had with him. Now that you knew how he felt, you couldn't help but brightly smile.

You were about to answer when snowballs began to hit both you and Loki.

"You tricked us Uncle Loki." One of Clint's children spoke.

"Sadie, that's enough. It's time for us all to get back on the trailer so we can look at all the lights." He came over and picked her up.

Then he turned back to you both, "What are you both doing just standing there? It's time to see the lights." He grinned.

You and Loki began to walk back to the others who had gotten on the trailer. You got in first, and Loki sat beside you. The trailer began to move, and there were already more lights.

You sighed and reached for Loki's hand intertwining your fingers with his. Then you laid your head on Loki's shoulder and closed your eyes. You smiled when you felt him place a kiss ontop of your head.

"Darling, why don't you open those beautiful eyes of yours. I believe we are about to be in that geeky area you talked about."

You opened your eyes and saw everyone looking ahead at what was indeed the geeky neighborhood. Since you were in the back, and everyone was looking ahead, you turned to Loki. You cupped his cheek with you free hand, and you stared into his emerald eyes momentarily before connecting your lips to his.

You pulled away shortly after kissing him, and you just smiled. "I love you too snowflake."

Everyone sat back down as they continued to look at the lights. You still held Loki's hand, and you leaned your head back on his shoulder. Eventually you fell asleep, but Loki made sure you were all wrapped up in blankets for the rest of the ride.

You woke up in Loki's arms, and he seemed to be carrying you back inside. "Loki, I fell asleep? Why didn't you wake me up?"

"Well you just looked so peaceful. I didn't want to wake you up."

You cuddled into his chest while you looked up to him. "It's okay. I'm fine right here."

"Darling, you're going to make my cheeks turn crimson. I tell you what. How about you and I view the lights together tomorrow night as our first date?"

"I would like that very much."

You smiled finding yourself slowly drifting asleep once more in your Loki's arms, and you couldn't be any happier.
