Your mother walked into your room with a bag concealing your dress. She hung it on your folding screen, and she turned to you.

"I can't believe my little girl is turning thirteen today. My y/n, you are going to absolutely adore this dress. Frigga helped me pick it out." She smiled mainly because they chose matching outfits for Loki and you.

"All the noble children will be attending your party including Thor and Loki obviously." She then turned around and grabbed the zipper. "Are you ready to see your dress?"

You nodded and watched as she took out the stunning green and gold dress. Then she pulled out black sandals, and you loved the outfit. You just didn't like that all the children would be coming. You really just wanted a small intimate party with Loki and Thor. They were the only friends you really had.

You put on the dress and shoes as your mother did your hair. When she finished she took your hand in hers and led you to a door.

"Alright my dear, when the doors open walk in. I'm entering a different way."

You nodded as she left. Finally the doors opened and some one announced your name. You walked in on the stairs, and you felt sad when no one looked to you.

No one even looked to you except Loki. He frowned when he saw that you were upset. He walked to the bottom of the stairs waiting for you. You slowly walked down, and you smiled when you saw Loki.

"You look... Beautiful." He smiled.

"Thank you." You returned the smile and giggled when he bowed extending his hand to you.

"May I have this dance?"

"You always may have this dance." You took his hand curtsying.

He led you outside the ballroom away from everyone else. When the music began he led you through a waltz as he had always done. It was you and him, and that's all you really wanted on your birthday.

"You're finally thirteen, just like me." Loki smirked.

"Why must you always bring up the fact you're older?"

"I'm also taller. I guess that's a perk of being a Jotun." He laughed.

"I'm never going to be as tall as you am I?" You frowned.

"Probably not, but I like being taller than you."

"Why so you may tease me?"

"No. I like being taller because I feel like I can protect you easier."

"Protect me?"

"Well, I know you can take care of yourself, but I feel like I should still protect you. It makes me feel better when I know you are safe and happy." He looked down to you smiling.

"I... I don't know what to say." You could feel the blood rushing to your cheeks.

"Say you will let me always protect you, even if you don't always need it. I don't know what I'd do without you." He frowned.

"Okay then Loki." You wrapped your arms around his shoulder and rested your head on his shoulder. You felt him wrap both his arms around your waist.

You closed your eyes as your continued to dance.

"I think they're cutting the cake." Loki looked in through the window.

"Let them do what they want. I'm happy to be right here with you. This is all I really wanted from my birthday." You smiled nuzzling yourself into his chest.

Loki then blushed as he looked down to you. He pulled you closer to him as you both danced. Then he decided to sing to you as he should on your birthday.
